A great memory- it was my first Stones concert as well.

May 23rd, 1990 - Hannover, Niedersachsenstadion - 30 years for me!

I was about to start a thread but then remembered I started one 5 years ago.

Anyway, last Saturday I watched the youtube clip with the whole Hannover show,
and I must say: What a great show and crowd it was!

Unbelievable, the were selling tickets only a month ahead of the tour...

Mine as well! Those pics bring back some fine memories: 19 yo, summer, Abitur, soccer-WM and last but not least THE STONES live. Getting emotional ..

I remember wanting to go so bad to the Cologne date that summer. I was only 13 and my parents wouldn't let me go. I had to wait another five years for my first Stones concert in Montpellier.

The first time my wife and I had seats as she was pregnant.

I remember running a long way to the front row...

I went to see The Stones in Cologne in 1990, the Toten Hosen were opening the show and we could easily walk close to the stage, it was a great day!

I was there 27th and the next day I had my final examination.

Couldn´t sleep that night but proudly wore my new Stones Tour Shirt at this very important exam thinking somehow I will make it ...because I knew not sleeping is what Keith Richards does all the time and this was my motivation along with this extraordinary experience the night before....well I was young(er)....and I did pass..

Beautiful times and memories I'm sure. A friend of mine stationed over in Europe at the time (during a timely furlough - long story) with the USAF, got a gig with a mate of his (who was working at the time for AB - Budweiser, who sponsored most if not all of Urban Jungle) they had front row and back stage access back in that day. 12-13 shows in a row, he always rubs in... Some grand tales, although, second hand I know .

Second show wasn't far away from sold out.There were plenty of tickets outside of the stadium sold for 10 DM which is 5 Euros today.

But anyway, two great shows on a sunny weekend as far as I remember.

I visited the Saturday show, sat in the stand on the side, it was coolish. The band was in good shape, the sound not as good, it reverberates in the stand. I remember that Keith's performance was great, anyway.

I was there 3rd row. Very nice experience!

i was there. was my first stones show age 17. standing center first 3 rows. still remember walking through the forrest to the stadium and how hot the flames were at the opening explosion and then they were standing there in front of me, so close. it was surreal!

I kind of preferred the Urban Jungle stage to the Steel Wheels dito. More colors and a pack of inflatable dogs. Which Sir Michael tried to tame.
About the dogs: Wouldn't one of them be a collector's item? And some party trick...

Is it the day where the show started very early and MTV broacasted "It's only rock n roll" ?

Happy memories of the Urban Jungle tour, was a dream come true, definitely worth the wait, at that period in the 80s no one expected the Stones to get back together, personally i think this was the tail end of Keith's peak years, by 1994 he wasn't the same man and neither were the Stones.

Oh how I wish it were 1990 again....

...but it feels about 100 years ago

i'm exactly as old now as jagger/richards were, when i saw them that night. ;-)
