My first tour with my first 3 shows (out of 52 now), though a fan since 1982.

I remember that I thought "They sound so different compared
to all those boots from 81, 78, 75 ..."

And I thought: "On Rambler they were The Rolling Stones the most".

The price for my first show in Hannover was 59 DM (30 €!!!).
I had 2 tickets for the seats in the rear and changed them for
another 50 DM into arena standing tickets at a scalper.
After the show the girl I had with me gave me a "korb"

Anyway, a great tour to look back at.

My 1st tour but I had made the stupid mistake of viewing a vid of the AC'89 video before the show so there was absolutely no surprise for me. The wall of fire before STU, Jagger on top of the stage structure before SFTD I knew it was going to happen.

They played "Wanna Make Love To You" at the show I attended (Paris #1) so I considered myself lucky.
I didn't get a "korb" cause I did'nt ask anything to the girl I went with : she was a good friend's sister (hi Nina!)

It was my first Stones Tour as well (Frankfurt, May 26th). Great memories.

Mine, too.

I took some pictures of the crowd behind me. Years later I saw a guy
in Flensburg, where I lived, whom I recognized from the picture on my wall.

"How did you like the Stones in Hannover 1990?" He looked puzzled,
but he was the guy from the picture!

Do you have pictures of the 1990 tour? Maybe we could trade some scans?

I really like this report as it brings back great memories. And of course comments like your quote are really funny in 2015

Some time ago I had DVDs of both Hannover 90 shows. Unfortunately I lost them both when I moved to a new flat. Is there anyone who has them and could upload them at the Buy/Sell/Trade section?

The Urban Jungle Tour 1990 was also for me the 1st tour I saw the Rolling Stones for the first time.

Yes, I still remember these exact dates :-)

In Berlin they had the Steel Wheels stage, very impressing.
The afternoon before this concert we met Charlie in East-Berlin,
he was just walking there with a woman. What a great moment!!

Great pictures! I forgot how big the dogs were on SFM. When I think of Urban Jungle, I usually think of the HONKEY TONK WOMEN.

Interesting stuff. I didn't know the US production was brought to east Berlin.
The scaffolding has come a long way since then, the ABB stage even supported people while it was a much tighter construction.

The TDK tape commercial is advertising the UJ tour but to me it is clearly New York as the back drop. I can understand that the performance portion would be from Steel Wheels, but TDK surely could have filmed a European City advertising a European tour.

SLightly OT but I remember that on the French program "Rapido" there was a lenghty feature on the Stones' first show in Praha. The bearded 40+ longtime fan who held his ticket waiting for the gates to open, the meeting between the band and Vaclav Havel it was a nice one
(yeah I had it on tape).

URBAN JUNGLE Tour 1990 - Brings back some good memories, I went to see The Stones perform in Cologne May 31 in Germany and Parc Des Princes Paris June 25.

My first ever Stones show was in Oslo on the UJ tour. Good times

Mine too DP! My 1st show was the 2nd last night of the whole tour at Wembley on 24th August 1990 when we got the Steel Wheels Stage instead. I thought it was going to be my 1st and last show ever. Look how that turned out!

Still mulling over going to the U.S. tour but might hang on for South America in the Autumn instead. What I'd really like is for them to come back to the UK/Europe next year

Frankfurt, the second date, was my first ever Stones gig! I think UJ/SW was the first chance for many of us, born in the 70s, to see them live. Someone told us, pre internet of course, that Guns and Roses will open for them, almost 50% right, it was "Gun"!

It was a hot day, soccer-world-cup-time (YES! Mick in a german shirt), just finished school, 19 years old, waiting for college, felt free and wild (which I wasn't for real), just go rid of my pretty but evil girlfriend ... Ruby Tuesday was my highlight, loved the poppy tunes back in the day very much ...

... Anyone has a Zeitmaschine for rent?
