Ronstadt has been ill. Campbell played on the road to the time his mind wouldn’t let him. Bowie never retired from the road. I guarantee Elton John will still be doing concerts. Paul Simon says he’s doing occasional shows . I don’t know what your talking about This isn’t a 9 to 5 job.

Not quite tour ready yet, but as he said in the tweet: "A walk in the park"! which has more than one meaning. Is he simply being literal? Or maybe he's he referring to the ease of the surgery?
Or perhaps the physical therapy and the anticipated quick recovery? Whatever the case, he's already walking around and looking well- not only a miracle of modern medicine, but an indication of his strong desire to get to where he wants to be. With his dedication and drive, if he wants to get back to touring I'm pretty sure he'll be able to. Or if he wants to rest indefinitely than that's fine also, but something tells me he'll be back.

Hairball, I believe you spotted Mick's metaphor - certainly he is alluding to the ease of the surgery, in addition to the literal walk in the park.

Yes .. seems to have a double meaning indeed. I have a feeling he will be as good as new in no time. I'd guess in four or five weeks he will be working out again and back to a completely normal routine.
However .. I'm with you .. whatever the guy wants to do with his career is up to him. However .. Jagger has no want or intent on stopping his career or slowing down is what I'd say and what seems to be pretty clear.

One thing we have to put clear: The younger Mick NEVER run on stages. He danced and moved around the microphone by a radius of 5 to 10 meters. Until 1978 that was his exercise during a show. Mick startet to run on stages much later when he was 38 with the beginning of the 1981 US-Tour. And I saw him still doing it regularly 37 years later last year on the European Tour.
