... not as hep as mr. sandman, that one killed; awesome, as you kids say...
Rough justice is hilarious. I think Mick did a pastiche of an Aesop fable. He cleaverly uses animals(chicken, cock , rooster and fox) as a satire to describe the male sexual/emotionnal dominance in his relationships with a female. Maybe it is just my imagination, but at least it allows me to give a meaning to that song.Quote

New tour coming up, new album coming out ... PLEASE no more garbage lyrics like this !!
ROUGH JUSTICE gets my vote. I mean really, does it get any worse ?
One time you were my baby chicken
Now you've grown into a fox
Once upon a time I was your little rooster
But am I just one of your cocks
It's rough justice on ya
You're going to have to trust me
It's rough justice
But you know I'll never break your heart
So put your lips to my hips, baby
And tell me what's on your mind
I know you've still got the animal attraction for me
It's been a long, long time
It's rough justice on ya
We never thought it risky
It's rough justice
But you know I'll never break your heart
You're feeling loose and lusty
So if you really want me
Yeah, it's rough justice
And you know I'll never break your heart, yeah
It's rough justice on ya
You think you really sussed me
It's rough justice
But you…
What the f**k ?
What WERE they thinking ?

Are you referencing the Homer & Jethro version?

wait a second; that car song is an Excellent blues number.
it sparkles; that's good stuff. that's the Stone's killing the Beatles right there, nice and slowly too. Drive my car or BRAND NEW car.
which one will the chick pick?
hmmmm, take all the time you need with this one.
i'll check in later.

Yes paulywaul , those are pretty bad no doubt about it and could be the worst, but there's so many examples of bad lyrics the last few decades, I wouldn't know where to start...maybe with Back to Zero:
I worry about my great grandchildren
Living ten miles beneath the ground
I worry about their whole existence
The whole damn thing's in doubt
I don't know why, but I tend to laugh at those lines when the intention (I assume) was to instill fear and awareness.

Lol..That's an interesting take...but this is how you do a car song with great lyrics....and the allegory is much better

There's honest nonsense like Awopbop-aloobop etc. No problem with that (and it's something the Stones don't do very much). There are competent but distasteful lyrics (Under My Thumb) - not to my taste, but not bad. There's Mick or Keith having fun being crude, like the pot-to-piss-in line from Pass The Wine, which is funny. But some lyrics are just incompetent, distasteful and rubbish all at the same time - the Jello line comes immediately to mind.

From the article .......
<<< I’ve celebrated before the brilliant visionary metaphysics of “Time Waits for No One,” with Mick Taylor’s guitar somehow spilling out a vision of beauty and complexity that virtually translates Stephen Hawking’s theory of “imaginary time” into guitar runs. String theory ! >>>

There is one in particular that is much worse that Rough Justice...the lyrics to Brand New Car. They are so infantile I don't even want to post them...
