Yes paulywaul , those are pretty bad no doubt about it and could be the worst, but there's so many examples of bad lyrics the last few decades, I wouldn't know where to start...maybe with Back to Zero:

I don't know why, but I tend to laugh at those lines when the intention (I assume) was to instill fear and awareness.

the problem with the 1st verse of Rough Justice is rather the message (lyrics-wise it's just a funny way of playing with meanings/double meaings)

Rough Justice lyrics are fantastic. They have so many worse ones. There are full albums by them that suck. If the choice isn't from them then you're wrong.

Generally I think there is too much negativity on the net it is just not giving any value really. I hate this and I don't like that and so on. When there is so much beauty in the world why look for the downside?

Music lyrics to me are mostly "I love you" and "You love me" sort of stuff. I don't pay much attention to lyrics. They are a decoration of the music. The music is the essence.

UMT has class, RJ is just rubbish by comparison. Childish, unimaginative, just ... well I can't think of another word to be honest, perhaps only 'appalling' !

Anyway, supposedly a new album from the boys in 2019. Personally, I just hope it reveals glimpses of their unquestionable song-writing genius, but ideally without the sort of lyrics that make an appearance in Rough Justice. Ugh ... !

songs lyrics are great in case they are able to stand without music…
But Jagger/Richards are neither Bob Dylan nor Leonard Cohen. Thus most Stones lyrics serve the purpose to give the singer something to do (and the audience the chance to sing along)

There is one in particular that is much worse that Rough Justice...the lyrics to Brand New Car. They are so infantile I don't even want to post them...

Please don't shut this thread down Bjornulf. Maybe it is just the tile that could stand a change. But in these dire Stones news days, a thread like that is part of our normal obsessive compulsive topics where we dissect anything to do with their music and lives. And we need to look at the flip-side of the coin too.
IMO this is actually an interesting topic: to see what others do NOT appreciate so much.

The one I do not like is "Blinded by Love". Esp. with the historic reference thank you to Chris.
"Rough Justice" isn't all that bad. But IMO part of the problem with "Bigger Bang" are the lyrics. In latter years Jagger has told several times about his M.O. for writing lyrics; where he suggests, getting up, eating breakfast, and then start writing real fast; just about anything you can think of on the topic. Don't worry about meter, about rhymes - that you can fix later.
So...yes, that definitely will work sometimes. But I think in art, anytime you get too much into a pattern, or set habits, you're going to slowly lose the spark.
Writing lyrics of then can be work. You usually have a hook, a key-line or two. Now you have to fill out those damn verses. The other guys are waiting.That's when you get "The Storm", "I wanna drive" etc.
But for the big key tracks, you need to go for the inspiration. I started noticing certain lines years ago; "the cards on the table"; he started using food metaphors a lot. Keith has his little fall-back lines too. He is usually involved in a secret affair; he is climbing through the window at night like a thief; and "how will be be able to share our secret?"

Anyway, rambling..

The Stones surely have a number of questionable lyrics and I agree that we should have an opportunity to discuss them. Also I do think that lyrics usually are an integral part of the song so theyre relevant to my appreciation of the song, but not always: I like both Sparks and Rough Justice to a certain extent (ok not brilliant music but they fulfill their part on their respective albums alright). Yet the lyrics are a real p**n in the..., to listen to. But the reason those songs stick out is probably that theres only a few of those.
And, lets not forget, the Stones do have an enormous amount of really good lyrics, also. Btw, 'rude' is not the criterium, but 'silly', thats why I think Some Girls and Under My Thumb belong to the good category.
