My house to St Mary's stadium - approx 1 mile. Do I win?

I am afraid not. Less than a mile in my case. From my front door, I can walk to Croke Park in less than 10 minutes.

I keep my fingers crossed for the team/country which has the least supporters living in Germany (I can't stand drunken football fans singing and shouting on the streets at night). Japan, Peru etc would be perfect

West Ham #2 from Melbourne, back to Oz for a bit then back for Stuttgart. Think that’s about 48,000km. Do I win a cake?

Drat ... beaten. I'll be walking from home to Twickers too, but I think it's a little further than 1.2 miles !!

If anyone doesn't mind can you include how much your flight costs and hotel too. Very curious as to the actual costs of travel and lodging.

Funny how Anglo-Saxons still sticks to Iron Age measure systems. A mile is 10 km overhere. How many hundreds of years more will it take for Limeys to accept the metric system?

Trips abroad to a Stones show doesn`t seem right to me.

Also doesn't seem right to trip a broad with a stone cool smiley

A trip abroad to see the Stones is a serious bucket list item for a lot of fans. Especially in their home country.
Not sure what doesn't seem right, though. Personally I have taken bv's advice as often as I can since given in 2012 (paraphrasing) "If you want to see the band live, you're going to have to travel, they're not going to tour forever".

If they want to play for me they`ll have to come to me. This is what a lot of the anticipation before rumoured and confirmed gigs are all about. Not playing in one country is a threat to the participation at this site from fans in those countries.

As I said in a previous thread, I have the chance of having one of my best friends working for Air Canada and she can make a couple of friends benefit from her very interesting discount. I'll fly from Montreal to Nice and back to Montreal for $300 Can (or US $225). Usually, it would cost me at least $1400.00.
Also, my car will stay at the airport free of charge for 8 days... Good deal.

If it wasn't beacause of my friend, there's no way I could afford going to Europe to see the Stones.

As for the price for lodging, we're currently ''shopping'' on Air B&B and I'll rent a car for a week.

It's 400 metres for my buddy (with whom I am staying) to Croke Park. Very convenient for the Miss You bathroom break.

How about twice in one year flying from Amsterdam, via Japan, to Australia and back to Amsterdam and NOT seeing the Stones in Down Under?
I'm sure you understand that this time I am happy to settle with a modest "jump" across the Channel/North Sea smileys with beer

1. Swindon-Dublin-Swindon

2. Swindon-London (Stratford)-Swindon

3. Swindon-London (Stratford)-Swindon

4. Swindon-Southampton-Swindon

5 -7. Swindon-Nottingham(sister lives there and is coming to the Coventry show as my LD partner)-Coventry-Manchester-Hamilton,Lanarkshire (hometown)-Edinburgh-Hamilton,Lanarkshire-Swindon
(taking a week off work for this triple header)

8. Swindon-Cardiff-Swindon

9. Swindon-London (Twickenham)-Swindon

10 & 11. Swindon-Stansted-Prague-Warsaw-Birmingham-Swindon

I reckon over 5,000 miles (800km), with 2,500 miles travelling by land. Only 4 flights being taken : Bristol-Dublin return, London-Prague & Warsaw-Birmingham. Bus from Prague to Warsaw and bus, boat and train from Belfast to Swindon thumbs up
