Nobodyimportant quote :
"Tuesday I arrived about 6pm, was handed an envelope. 2 excellent seats, block 109.
Friday, 3.30pm, invited to choose from 12-15 envelopes fanned out. Gold Circle."

The earlier you come (real fan) more chance to get a good ticket.
It's very to say to the staff : these enveloppes must be proposed to the first ones.

After 4-5 pm, you propose all the other enveloppes.

Depends what people want though, doesn't it? Not everybody wants to stand. I am sure that there are "real fans" who prefer a good seat.

Hi,

here is my experience with Lucky Dip tickets for London 2: I had planned to go with my wife who felt unwell all day and finally decided that she couldn't go.

Collecting both tickets by myself shortly before seven wasn't a problem. Nice surprise: No Filter Pit.

In the next 30 minutes I approached about 20 people informing them that I had a spare pit ticket that I was willing to give away for free. Nobody was interested. Some of them were with others and didn't want to split up, which of course I can understand totally. But it was still frustrating not being able to make someone happy.

As show time was approaching. I finally entered the venue and gave the ticket to someone in gold circle. Don't know if the person actually used it.

Had a great time in the pit!

For London 2, I was initially allocated a single distant nosebleed but collected my ticket in the company of friends - a family of 4 who got a pair of GAs and a pair of GCs. A sympathetic ticket office on seeing we were all together upgraded us all to GC and we were ecstatic. Once inside we grabbed an amazing spot tucked right into the corner on Keith’s side, next to the Pit. I recognised a good few faces in the Pit - Beast And Topi amongst them. I bumped into Beast and Flairville in the street at the end as the crowds dispersed. And to top it all off, we got that performance.thumbs up

Lucky you!!

Does this mean that BOX Office staff know which tickets are in the envelops? or Do they have some tickets separately not in the envelops and give them to you?

hard to tell – in Dublin the Lucky Dippers had to pick their enevelop themselves out of a box. Thus I don't think the staff knew which tickets were in which envelops. At the first London show the woman at the counter gave me an envelop. But I couldn't see if she had different piles to pick from. At the seconed London show the very same woman held maybe 10-12 enevolps in her hand to make me pick one. Both times I got gold circle.

Last year the LDs in Hamburg were randomly picked from a box by the stuff, in Munich and Düsseldorf they were handed out by the stuff but you couldn't really see if they had only one box/pile to pick from.

I don’t know but there’s certainly a bit of skullduggery and jiggery pokery going on, which I unusual benefitted from on this occasion. Gold circles have a gold mark on the side of them so I think it’s just a matter of shaking the window envelope To see the special mark. Having 2 teenagers in the group and 2 attractive females probably helped too. My sister’s coming to Covemtry with me so hopefully she’ll bring me luck grinning smiley

unfortunately, I had two fools before me who fully recorded almost every song of the gig and impeded my view with their smartphones. awful

maybe sheer coincidence
Since the two tickets in the envelop are usually placed front side to front site it is impossible to see the gold mark – even if you shake the envelops.

by the way: there's a number on the lower left and right side of the LD tickets indicating the # of the LD ticket.
on Tuesday I had # 41/200, on Friday #592/1000 – which means the had 1000 LD tickets for Friday!

Were you Keith’s side? I was about 3rd row out from the corner. Strangely, my photos from this show are much worse than Dublin and London 1, both of which I was GA front row. There were lots of waving arms around me. My friends’ 15yo daughter got onto the rail and got some great shots with her phone.

But recording whole songs and obstructing others’ views is so selfish. In Barcelona last year, I was 2nd row at the end of the catwalk with the front row all VIP early entry people with their black bags. For the last half hour plus of the show, every time Mick came down the ramp, 4 of them stood in a row with their backs to Mick (they were all tall) so they could get a selfie with Mick behind them. They formed a 4 person human wall and It blocked the view of about 50+ people every time. Selfish ignorant arseholes!

My Friday GC ticket was #511/1000, but Tuesday's was #19/100. That one was a seat though.

Mine for 25th is 913/1000, gold circle
They came face to face, and the envelop window does not allow to identify anything
My fisrt envelop with 2 seats (I did not see the tix number at that time) was marker on a corner with a 2, hand writen in blue
I did not see the envelop for the 2 gold circle (not mine)
4 points "out of law" :
- it was possible to pick up alone, without the guest
- they did not ask the Visa Card to deliver, just confirmation number and ID
- I received a stamp on the hand but (I asked) my guest without that stamp willl be able to enter
- no escort at all after LD deliver, easy to share, sell, trade or so

Yes, I was there. I believe that I rememeber your friend and his daughter. Was in the second row and had blue bomber jacket with tongue. Great that you managed to get GC despite poor ld!

My LD from friday says #49/1077, general admission. Would this mean 1000 GC and 1077 GA tickets?

Life is easier for women, but we usually get nice offer from male staff, not often from female staff, also less likely when we are with a mangrinning smiley
So I think you were just lucky and staff was nice! Hope you get luck in Coventry!

Well, we got nosebleeds of a sort, but there aren't really any nosebleeds at St Mary's so no complaints here! Terrific view and we weren't much further away than we were in the excellent seats we had at London 1.

That’s what I got. I enjoyed myself and have no complaints at all. My LD Partner, 60 ish, always liked the Stones but hadn’t previously seen them, loved it. I was in Section 35.

We were in 36 so not far from you. It's a rare treat to be in such a small stadium and if we'd got pit or gold circle tonight, I think we wouldn't have appreciated the intimacy of this venue so much.

I will be trying to upgrade my Twick ticket from GC to Pit. So if anyone wants to see more joy... just sayin’... grinning smiley
