On my 6th Lucky Dip, accompanied by my sister attending her 1st ever Stones gig...

NO FILTER PIT A !!!!!!

Didn’t think I’d ever experience it but it finally happened.

Collected our tickets at 5.30. I sank to my knees when I opened my envelope and let out a huge squawk of joy. My sister says my reaction was something to behold and claims I started to well up. She’s winding me up though. She enjoyed herself and nearly bought a Stones Tee but baulked at the prices. The drive to and from the show from Nottingham was horrendous and I’m glad I wasn’t driving.

Congrats, grzegorz67 smileys with beer
Most of all as it seems there were quite a lot of nosebleeds this time for Dippers ...

Hello,

scored two good seats in 37 for my wife and daughter.

Too bad we forgot my daughter‘s headphones, as those seats were directly below the set of loudspeakers. But the crew gave her some oropax, so it worked out in the end.

So she can tell her children in 30 years that she saw them alive :-)

cheers

Was initially a bit disappointed with block 25 row aa but there are no real nosebleeds in this stadium, all single tier and a great view. Plus with Manchester and London 1, it was either lucky dip or nothing for Coventry and so glad I went for it!

well, sorry to hear that so many of you scored poor seats…
The worst I ever scored with LD was pitch standing (Düsseldorf). At Hamburg, Munich and Dublin I scored pit and GC for both London shows. Hope to get the same (at least!) for Berlin and Stuttgart.

Not sure what time to collect my LD's for Manchester. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to follow in order to improve chances. The only tickets left on sale are GC, Pit and Nosebleeds. Thinking they will put the pit tickets into the lucky dip pile later on in the afternoon when there is no longer a chance of selling them.
But will there be a few good ones to at the beginning to reward fans who get there early?

there's no way to predict who things are being done locally… For example in Hamburg as well as in Munich last year I got the impression that everybody who arrive very/was at the head of the queue got pit tickets.
In London it seemed that it didn't matter when you came – people who were there before me got shitty seat, I got GC people who came much later scored pit. At the first show I was handed an envelope, at the second I had to pick my envelop from 10-15 envelopes. In Dublin you had to pick an envelope from a box.

We had two pairs of LD for Coventry... one pair of seats black 23 and one pair of gold circle. That means from 4 lucky dip gigs I have had Pit B twice, one gold circle, and one set of seats.

Well, I had 2 Lucky Dips but unfortunately have ruptured my Achilles’ tendon and couldn’t go. My mate went, showed MY
ID to get in and scored two Pit A tickets. Not only that the jammy b***** won £250 at the casino afterwards!! Gutted doesn’t cover it. Still at least I saw them st the Roundhouse in 1971 and the Astoria in 2003!

Block 24 Row CC half way up for me. Wasn't too gutted after scoring Pit B Southampton. I had my daughter with me this time and she appreciated a seat for the 2 hrs or so leading up to the show. it was also a good chance for me to see the screen and stage in full perspective. Last of the Lucky Dips for me as I couldn't resist a seat in row 6 of the block opposite the catwalk for Edinburgh when it came up on AXS a few weeks ago.

So happy for you and your sister Gregor.

I knew you would eventually get Pit tix on your LD gigs and you really do deserve it, knowing how big a Stones fan you are.
You , Andreea ,Welshstones , who got pit twice at Dublin and Coventry are three off the top of my head I personally know who have got really Lucky.

Best of luck for the rest of your gigs. thumbs up

I'm so pleased for all of you IORRers drawing out Pit tickets, I really ameye rolling smiley

Seriously, good luck to you all. I've drawn nosebleeds for both of my shows so far - 2nd back row in London 1, and 5th back row at Coventry. Maybe my day will come soon.

From reports so far, it feels to me that a) they have sold more LD tickets this time around and that b) there are more nosebleeds available this year (ie there might be the same number of pit tickets as last year, but the chances of pulling them are lower).

Keep trying. Prague would be a good one, like Italy last year cos its a field. The problem with huge stadiums is that there a far more seated spaces than standing. I have Manchester tomorrow. I've got everything crossed, no way I want seats as the place is enormous and even the good ones will be a LOOONG WAY from the stage.

My LD experiences so far:

- Dublin: Seat Lower Tier (but got a spare Pit A from a friend)
- London I: GA
- London II: Golden Circle
- Coventry: Seat

Thanks very much and great to hear from you. Thanks also for everyone else’s kind words.

The Pit is just amazing and a Stones experience like no other. I’m still highly suspicious that a degree of selection is taking place for the Pit. My sister is 46 going on 32 and in very good shape. I made sure she accompanied me to the LD desk. The member of staff picked an envelope from under her desk and gave it to me. Did she have the envelopes in different piles? I’d hazard a guess that she very possibly had.

My gig buddy for the next 2 Shows is my male cousin, travelling down from Scotland to meet me in Manchester today then on Thursday we head North for Edinburgh.

My Lucky Dip experience so far, 4 shows in (I had a normal priced GA in Dublin and got front row just off csntre, Ronnie side).

London Stadium Show 1 : General Standing front row
London Stadium Show 2: Initially allocated a crap nosebleed seat but got an upgrade to Golden Circle thanks to accompanying a family I’ve known since forever. Good job we picked up our tickets at the same time!
Southampton: Side Seats a little far back but with a very good view
Coventry Ricoh Arena : No Filter Pit

At all 5 shows so far, I’ve had fun regardless of where I was. I’m lovIng every minute of my Lucky Dip adventure and the next instalment is tomorrow night.

I just have to pack up and catch the train from Nottingham to Manchester very shortly.

Very good :-) I can only speak for Coventry but that was very non-suspicious. Three or so people each with a big pile of envelopes each, envelope straight from the top of the pile (there wasn't a queue when i arrived so an element of chance re which of the counters/3 piles mine came off the top of!!)
