Palace Revolution 2000The visual I get from Mick and that is in the GS film during HTW when the girls tackle him, and he's bending over and singing.Quote

The only time I can think of him seeming a bit startled is with the groupies running on stage and jumping on him.
This sentence instantly reminded me of this video!

The J Geils song I'd never seen. I know only ONE "Do I LOve You" song - and that is the Northern Soul classic by Frankie Wilson. One of my favorite songs in the world. [youtu.be]

Keith to Scotty Moore: 'well, my lead singer is still alive'
Moore: 'what's his name?'
Keith: 'Can't remember!'
There's really nothing that's compares to Jagger. Iggy Pop is good as well but he can't carry a 3 hour show. Axl Rose was fantastic in the '80s.

when have the stones ever done a 3 hour show? mick jagger is usually on stage now max 80 minutes of the concert
More like 2 hours and 5 minutes.
when was that? He leaves 10 minutes or so for Keith. Another 10 minutes or so at various times added up. The entire band leaves at least 5 minutes before the encore. The shows are less than 2 hours total including the encore.

King of the frontmen, surely? About Commander:
- connection with the audience: almost none
- stage talk: almost none or nothing of importance
- dancing or showmanship: well, he has his own style...
- conducting the band: well, there is not much he can do there
Surely the magic is somewhere else...

You've never heard him say "here we go" before cues??
Just about in every show - multiple times.
Mick knows just what to do to leave the audience in awe. He's the best at that. He doesn't have to look people in the eye or give high fives to make a connection with the audience.

Mick Jagger has proven himself over and over... and is still doing it.
Mick Jagger is the greatest rock and roll Frontman ever. Period.

It's not even close. Jagger #1 by zillions. That said I saw the Clash approx 20 times and Joe was great.
I would say:
1 Jagger
2. Scott Weiland
3 Iggy
4 Ian Astbury
So you are wrong. Not big deal.Quote

LOL, Weiland and Astbury; to me Weiland and Astbury aren't in the same class as the other two names. I had a much longer post but deleted it all because it was a bunch of stuffy mumbo jumbo...

If you ever got to see Queen live then Freddie would have to be in your top 2

Michael Stipe was pretty brilliant when I saw REM. He moved like a serpent.
Anyone mentioned Bowie yet?
Freddie Mercury with his half mic stick was pretty cool. AY-OH as he used to say.
George Michael had very good night club cool moves.
Prince blew me away.
James Brown sadly when I saw him was really high on something. It wasn’t good.
Iggy Pop of course.
Still though, Mick rules.
