The Macron part was probably a joke. Here's what Mick apparently said:

"ce soir, il y a beaucoup de monde du show-business dans les tribunes. À l'extrême gauche Monsieur Mélenchon, à l'extrême droite Marine Le Pen, et là quelque part au centre Monsieur Macron".

Great show and I had a great time. I spent the day walking along the Seine with my friend of 30+ years who'd never seen the band. He tagged along as my Lucky Dip partner and will repeat on Sunday.

My 1st Lucky Dip experience and When handed the unmarked white envelope I opened it and felt so deflated to be given plain old "Fosse". Some people in front of me got Pit. There is a general feeling that they have 2 piles of enveloped and only hand out Pits to those they deem "Pitworthy". However, I entered immediately to grab the best spot I could in Fosse. One benefit of LD is that we had our own special entrance and could enter immediately. As the venue had only just opened, I headed for the side (Keith's), where the barrier with Fosse Or bends sharply, allowing people to be much closer to the stage. By showtime I was on the rail and it turned out to be a fantastic viewing position. I was as close to the stage as the end of the catwalk,where I'd been in Barcelona but off to the side. There you get a great view of the whole stage with no monitors or lighting rigs to block your view. Only the heads of those at the back of Fosse Or and raised arms holding phones and camera were any issue at all. It was equivalent to being at the very front of Silver Pit in Hamburg, for those who went to that show.

I thought the show was excellent. The U Arena's 1st event snd from where I stood, the sound was perfect. I've had UMT at all 3 of my shows so far and I'm not complaining. Keith has grown and grown in this tour (and he was never bad to start with - he's just under much more scrutiny than the others). He is on form and he knows it. Lots of smiles from our hero last night. Mick was his usual athletic self and his voice still has so much power. He easily has the best preserved voice of any of the other veteran rock singers still performing.

So all in all, an excellent evening, and I gate crashed the party for 50 quid (57.70€). 2 days' chillaxing in Paris then Show 2 to come! Loving my Stones week here in Sunny Paris . If my LD ticket on Sunday turns out to be plain Fosse again. I WON'T be disappointed. A bargain for 50 quid.

Yes. Because my Pit ticket was a travel package. My letter said no cameras above 300mm which seemed to confuse the guards.

BTW, did anybody have a problem bringing in a small pocket camera?

I got mine into Fosse no problem and I'll be bringing it again to shows 2 & 3.

OK. Thanks. Just read on the Facebook reviews page that there was a bit of a confusion regarding the cameras at the security check (that it would have been at the discretion of the person searching you and at some instances cameras with a zoom function were in fact refused)

No problem, I held my crappy little camera in my hand as I was patted down.

Transportation : so much easier than going to the Stade de France ! But yes you CANNOT take the RER outside Paris without a specific ticket, unlike for the metro where the standard T Ticket will let you go to the end of the lin that may happen to be outside Paris, like for the 1 (on both sides in fact)

Pit experience : weird I will say that !

- The good news is that you can arrive at 7.45PM and still get a great spot 5 rows from the rail/catwalk. Like I wrote previously I wouldn't recommend being closer to that due to the height of the catwalk and various obstructions (fans, cameramen shadowing Keith like a friggin' bodyguard, etc...).

- I'd read about the horror stories here so I headed directly to the "Pit" balloon on the left side of gate 33 at 7.45PM. It was to a good start as there was no one till I got to the scanner. But then I was like, so where's my wristband ? No one knew about a wristband. Then I spotted some kind of random queue in the middle of the hall (there were other queues for food it seems) where they were giving out wristbands. Great, except they were "Fosse Or", the guy gave me one when I showed my ticket and sent me on my way, hum...So I walked to the right side, bumped into the "Fosse Or" checkpoint, showed my wristband and the proceeded to the Pit checkpoint. I showed my Ticketmaster e-ticket, the guy grumbled something about not seeing "No Filter Pit", just "Filter Pit" and gave me a Pit wristband. And that was it, in the pit at 7.52, super smooth, thanks to those who had to fight their way in before that, thanks guys !

That's a good way to put it... My good friend sitting next to me in 114 row 17 said the sound was bouncing back in the rear like a ball in a squash game. To me, a lot of good music was lost in the mix.. You could hardly hear the horns, bass and keyboard, except rare occasion...
Some here say the sound was fantastic, but must depend on the quality of your ears :-)

RER back to Les Halles and beyond for me was excellent. I was in Block 118 and the sound was awful in terms of the sound coming back from rear...particularly the drums. My guess is that sound would be OK down front central. I really don't mind the odd bum note.

Soundcheck is for the next show but also for the shows AFTER the next show. Also, if they don't like it, or don't get it to work perfect, then they may change.
