That video only confirms one thing. Kids these days, although they stay in school for twenty years, are not getting any smarter.

The Stones No Filter Tour 2017 is a top media event in Germany, as was many a tour before.

With all due respect, how much music / musicians older than your grandparents (closer to grand grand parents actually) did you know as a kid? Let alone the fact, that those responses were most likely picked up out of many where the kids knew who The Stones were of course.

I seriously doubt that there have ever been a time in the history when people who passed certain age thought otherwise. Same old, same old. A am sure kids today are no worse than any other kids in any other time. Living in different circumstances, yes, but no way worse as such.

Sure Happy24. I do agree with you somewhat. But these "kids" seems to be around 20 or something. Young adults rather. And I must say that, when I was twenty, I did recognize Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra or Glenn Miller on a photo. Some things are common knowledge. Or at least should be...

I voted for UMT in the end but would be happy enough with SSC.

I'm in Hamburg and tried to go out earlier, but it was absolutely pissing down with rain horribly. I lasted 10 minutes before I came back.

Mick will be fine first show but you are right to mention it. Cold Northern European Autumn plus outdoor gigs are not a happy combination. Still...
...lets not tempt fate

Actually I think I noticed the usual box of kleenex on some rehearsal pictures next to his stuff. Like someone posted in 2012 it seems he's got a permanent cold these days! At the O2 he was blowing his nose a lot, the singing was fine though.

The big question is if there will be dress rehearsals today?
Tomorrow will be monsoon day and day before the show - they have to do it today I assume?

The irony of this comment is outstanding. Also, the sweeping generalisations made here are pathetic.

Many mistakes with image descriptions in this publication like confusing Anita with Gram Parsons or Mick with Keith or 1995 with 1977 and so on.

Excitement building up! Almost done packing my bags. Hampton '81 playing in the background. Coffee and a shot of Chivas.

This is going to be good.

Will land at Hamburg Airport towards 10 AM tomorrow morning.

My Saturday plans depend on the weather. Might drop by the Hard Rock Café if it keeps raining all afternoon. Probably not going to get soaked at the venue since I'm in the Silver Pit anyhow.

We'll see. If I get to HRC I'll loudly ask if anybody is from IORR winking smiley

Fair enough, I get your point of course. But as I wrote, I am sure they asked waaay many more kids/young people to get a couple of stupid responses in order to get this "shocking" result. I think we can aggree it is a stupid video in the first place smiling smiley

It takes almost two hours to walk around the site in Stadtpark, as it is all fenced up now. So make sure you have plenty of time when you arrive, it is a large area, and you need to know where the entrances are.

...Any advice on where to go (which entrance to take) when you've got tix for that 'Silver Pit', anyone?

Silver Pit seems to be far far away if this is the final fence. I am not amused Sir Jagger.
Fortunatly I only paid 150€ for the ticket.

Sure thing, that's how it is with most media. I haven't read or would even buy this print product. Actually I wanted to emphasize the media hype that the Stones still create whereever they show up.

Look forward to seeing your great pics again in due course, Latvian. Hopefully.

Maybe it's far away, but still it is exactly in accordance with the layout first presented by the organizer (thinking of the fence being right in front of the two towers).

i really do like the stage, it took em 30 years to get rid of those baroquesque steel monsters (outodoor)

and the bstage at least looks also quite low for their and every big outdoor act standards

thumbs up +1

Our youngest son aged 19 who is a smart, intelligent guy certainly does not even know ten Rolling Stones songs although his dad (who was about seven years old when they started) is a huge RS fan.

i think all down below you can see the fence for the GA. So the Silver Ticket area is HUGE.

Also, the towers look like the Pisa one.

I always suspected that the Silver pit area would be quite large, mainly because so many people seem to have tickets in that section. Not just here on IORR, but on the black market, ebay, social media etc. It seems to be many silver pit tickets around.
