A basic track shuffle might be interesting, so you could hear, say, the drums of Song 1 with the vocals of Song 5, the keyboards of Song 3, the bass of Song 11 and the guitars of Songs 2, 13 and 15, resp. Might give you a whole new Stones experience ... winking smiley (... but what if the tracks all still fit together? eye popping smiley )

There's going to be 50 tracks, so that's a lot of options! winking smiley

If they actually had 50 great tracks I would tell them to release 4 great albums instead. Would be nice

If its 50 covers of Ramones
tracks they'll only need one album ...

As far as I know, the minimal length of a CD track is 4 secs. 50 snippets will thus give us an EP of 03:20 minutes ...

That is, 18 years for little more than 3 mins. But who knows, maybe they recorded a 51st snippet, and we get 03:24 minutes ... hot smiley

Maybe some day in the distant future they'll have enough snippets to put out a Greatest Snippets release ala HONK or GRRR...they can title it SNIP!
All snippets should be able to fit on a 7 inch vinyl single....or a mini-disc...or a microchip. Add some live snippets and some remixed snippets for the Deluxe edition.
Based on the many snippets they've released in the last few years, snippets might be the way of the future - especially for those with a short attention span.

Yeah, that's the one! thumbs up

(And the bonus mini-EP will 50 SMU intro riffs that Keith botched ... just how's that gonna be called?)

It's been a month since the NYC photo/videos were taken, so probably we can expect something soon thumbs up

If the photos - as some may assume - were (also?) done the analogue way, they should meanwhile at least be developed.

Yes DiegoGlimmerStones- expecting, speculating, hoping, wondering, wishing, and waiting....something soon would be great!
BUT! The term "soon" in Stones language seems to have a far different meaning when compared to how regular English speaking earthlings define and understand it.
Based on the lengthy amount of time it's taken to complete this new album (if indeed it is finished), "soon" in Stones lingo could actually mean months...or even years!

Maybe the photos will be reinterpreted and painted on canvas by Ronnie ...if so, could be another couple of years...unless he does the scribble style as he does with his setlists...
18 years and counting.............

Ronnie could paint the file names of the digital photos, or the batch numbers of the film rolls. Might even start off a new phase in his career as a painter. Picasso had his nlue and rose (and several other) periods, Ronnie might now enter his file name and batch number period ... winking smiley

Ah, how I long for this release. I buy lots of vinyl in frustration. And even Allman Brothers first album. Never heard them before. But at 57 there are still things for me to discover. Love it. When the new Stones album arrive, I will light a candle. October. Dark evenings. But there will still be a warm feeling in my heart.

Seems the extraordinary length of time between albums is what the press will be focusing on most when this album is finally released, just as they did when the McCartney collaboration was confirmed.
It's definitely not of the norm to have such a prolonged gap...a lifetime ago...many, many years ago....longer than the amount of time between their first album and Tattoo You. Amazing.
Looking forward to it whenever they release it...it will be a celebration and a sigh of relief at the same time...for the band and the fans alike.

Maybe even for the press - at least for those writers who were hinting at a new album for the past so-and-so many years.

It's certainly made me laugh to see this thread at 691 pages having morphed how many times?

When the new LP comes out, will BV put this thread to bed!!??

It's the CHINESE DEMOCRACY of threads... for an album that won't make it past that one in terms of recording since it's finished - nor the amount of time between releases.

Re: New Stones album for 2023

At least, this thread is indeed educative. Inspired by the many mentions of Chinese Democracy I finally looked it up in Wikipedia - and found out that the album in fact was finished and already released a few years back! So far I had been in the belief that it was still in the making ... LOL

Oh yes, the new Stones' album has eclipsed Chinese Democracy many times over at this point.

Let's see if (after a while) there will be a Wikipedia entry giving us all the details of what really went on over the years of making the album.

The key to hang on to is that an album is more than just a collection of songs. That way we can ignore the more than an album's worth of newly recorded material released between 2010 and 2021 or even the blues covers album recorded 2015/2016. The negativity of reiterating "it's been so long" allows you to ignore the fact that the last original studio album saw the band at retirement age and they've gone on to make three album's worth of material since then. It's important we stay negative and say wrinkly rocker or add up their ages because that's what matters. It's really important we post that on a site like IORR as many times a day as possible so that the only wall we hit is the one we already determined to knock down years ago when we first started our Drakonian agenda against the site. That's what really matters...to some people at least.
