The hero of all of our great 2nd generation of rock and roll guitar heroes. The guitar that changed the world. One of the main foundations of the entire genesis and history of rock and roll itself. Yes there was Carl Perkins and Ike Turner and Chuck and others who made a huge stamp and they are each unequalled in their own way.
That early Elvis Sun and RCA stuff is still so ultra modern and ahead of it's time for all time. Today I watched (and listened) to videos of him playing throughout all the eras with everybody so charmed to meet him and play with him. People like Beck, Page, Clapton, Ron Wood, Bill Wyman, Albert Lee etc. and I've watched him very many times with Elvis today as well. Elvis started it all in so many ways and Scotty was a big part of
every part of that. Anyone who ever listened to or enjoyed rock and roll or rockabilly in any form owes this man gratitude and honor. I think it would be safe to say there would have never been a Beatles or Stones without him paving the way, making lead guitar the key element of a rock and roll band in the first place. For almost everyone. How many generations over the last 61 years and counting. How many kazillions hours of airtime and kazillion world wide record sales for a kazillion years to come. RIP
