Good on Woody. Played a big role in keeping the boys together all these years.

Could be a little inconvenient at times, no? Church, job interviews.

The woody jokes are funny but how about let's commend Ronnie for what he's contributed over the years. He had a lot to do with their upswing with Some Girls and may have been the glue that held them together and / or brought them back together after Mick and Keith's WWIII years. And while, yes - Mick Taylor was technically better, Ronnie has made a lot of valuable contributions to the music as well. He really shined on SG Live in Texas!

Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood: the best guitar section for The Rolling Stones!

As withsssoul would say, love and light to Ronnie Wood, where would the band be without him?

I think withsssoul would add "have som popcorn!"

And Ronnie...still the new guy in the band...
He has had his ups and downs but he's perfect in the Rolling Stones.

.....popcorn isn't necessarily good for anyone..it was meant as a compliment to RW that he still has his chops...

Yes, he does still have his chops! I wish Keith still had his. Well, Keith can get by, but I hope he hangs it up before he becomes as cringe-worthy as his idol, Chuck Berry has become in his old age. And it pains me to say that because Keith is my idol...

Here's to Ronnie, who has earned brickbats and praise in his long tenure. I have come to appreciate that the music was able to continue on stage due to Ronnie. And his sobriety the last few years has really made him a better player, and probably the best musician in the Stones at this point.

After all these years, to me he's still a member of the Faces rather than the Stones. My head just won't adjust. (Nothing against Woody, I'm a fan of his work with both bands.)

I suspect this may have been raised before, but is Woody an equal member of Stones Inc now?
Equal touring revenue as the other 3?
Equal profits in recording income?
25% share in the RS Group of Companies ?
ETC

I believe I've read that he was finally made an equal member financially around 1990, with the help of Wyman and Watts fighting for him to Jagger.

grinning smiley I had never heard the translation of ' Woody ' before that Rockman mentioned ... and I don't think any English knew that we in Stockholm used to go and take a Bill Wyman in the eighties (take a leak)..

Suddenly I realise that Ronnie's (and Keith') rhythm section moved on to play with
Randy Newman after this short tour.
Waddy Wachtel also joined Randy for the recording of Little Criminals.
And Ry Cooder toured with Randy in the 80s.

I dig Randy's music (maybe his lyrics ever more so), but I've never before thought
about these connections. Would it, for example, work if the Stones ever covered one
of Randy's songs (Guilty would be a candidate maybe)? Would it be possible for Randy
to cover a Stones song? Different worlds, I guess. But apparently they share a mutual favor
for some musicians.

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away
