SOME GIRLS - IF YOU COULD REPLACE ONE TRACK

Some Girls is in the top 5 Stones albums and their best commercially selling album.

If you could replace one song with a song on the Outtakes CD...would it be?

I think LIES is the Weakest Track on Some Girls.

I would replace it with DO YOU THINK I WOULD REALLY CARE.
Kind of Country but not in competition with Far Away Eyes like No Spare Parts.

SO YOUNG actually sounds the most like a Some Girls Track...which would be my 2nd alternate.

But WE HAD IT ALL is my favorite outtake...but I don't see it fitting on Some Girls.

They had a lot to choose from and I think they did a great job and the sales say so...but LIES sounds like the outtake to me and they could have chosen something better from all the Outtakes.

Probably the only album I can think of where there's an incredible record in between a horrible opener and a terrible closer. My opinion has softened with time, and I know its probably sacrilegious to say (especially about Shattered?) but the ONLY two songs I don't like are Miss You and Shattered. Everything else in between is pure gold to me.

So if I had to replace one track, it would have to be one of those two. My initial thought would be easily replace Miss You, as Shattered at least tries to be rocking. But then, when I think of Miss You, I think of the fact that because its a hit I was essentially forced to come around to it after hearing it so much. So maybe keep Miss You and replace Shattered, since I never got into that one and begrudgingly can enjoy Miss You even though I still don't think its good.

Its a toss up. Total coin flip and dependent on the day. But without a doubt, those are my two stinkers from the album. The rest is legitimately like a 9 or 10 out of 10 for me.

Do not touch "Lies", but possibly replace "Respectable" by "Claudine", (on condition that "Claudine" already was available and does not belong to a later session).

Lies is great. listen garden state.

Whar a shame " everything turning to gold" was not there. !!!!.in place of "lies"...

The only track from SG, I a'm not enthusiastic for, is "Miss You"...

I know I'll get crucified but Some Girls is my least favourite album from the 70s.Still think miss you and beast of Burden are great though

I do not like Shattered so would have replaced it with... hmmm... Claudine maybe or Tallahassee Lassie. We´ve Had It All is also a good track.

Claudine in as the opener. Then Miss You as track 2 and remove Lies.

'some girls' is not my favourite albums...
It includes maybe the best ever Stones track(beast of burden) but album is "too much punk"..
Not TOP5 album for me.
There is even tracks I HATE (shattered,Lies).Dirty Work is only other stones album that includes tracks i hate.

Not a big fan of Far Away Eyes but I wouldn't replace anything. Some Girls is great enough to be left alone.

I never think this is a good idea to go back and try to reorganise albums EXCEPT for ABB which is the only Stones album I really dislike. As soon as the deluxe tracks surfaced, I made my own 10 track cd for the car and haven't listened to the original for over 10 years. Playing/ writing/production are all a let down....only my opinion .

wow, come on, replacing Lies with Claudine!? No chance in hell. As much as I like Claudine, it could not replace any song on Some Girls.

Musically, Claudine would make a better fit on Emotional Rescue, imo.

Definitely ... would not like to replace any track on ER either, but Claudine does seem to fit better there, as an 11th track. I wouldn't want it on Some Girls... 'can't touch this' album

I'd take out "Lies" and especially "Faraway Eyes".
The rest is great.
