Looking nice -
"every Wed." sounds a bit different from "6 times between August 4 & December 5" (cfr. the Zentgraf reference)... But still: it looks genuine enough.
Anyway: too low-res for me. Need higher resolution.
Thanx for adding, though!

That phone number rang on Stu's desk at work, of course. There wasn't one at Edith Grove.

You know? I was wondering about that same thing, too. Curious, too, about the structure of phone numbers in those days. What does the "GER" stand for? I vaguely know, from movies & television series, that old phone numbers were a combination of words (names) & numbers. Never knew, though, what these names stood for, or referend to. Were these some kind of area codes (district or
neighborhood references)? Or was it a refrence to the actual subscriber?

Does anybody have this newspaper ad in on of them Stones books, or anything?
I'm looking for this image in high-res...
Somebody willing to share it with me?
Look it up, and scan it, maybe?
Thanx a milion -
It was never a poster. It was an advert placed in Jazz News.Quote

I'm going there (now called the Red Room) on Friday night for what may be the last ever night of the Ealing Blues Club. Ben Waters' playing there with special guests.
I'll have a look and see if they've got this poster up anywhere and take some photos of it if they have.
Cheers,
Chriseganstar

I'll be there too. Hoping that Ben Waters and his friends at the Ealing Blues Festival are on a mission to revive the venue!Quote

I notice that only one of the ads carries the admission price to the club, 4 or 5 shillings - in old English money before it went decimal - That would 20p or 25p in todays money. A new mini-car at the time was about £500. Makes our rent at Edith Grove sound expensive now - £!6 per week or £4 each.
The GER phone code -Gerrard- was for the West End area.
GERrard Soho Gerrard Street
