More muffled sound is what you will get with JW as producer
He did the same for Wanda Jackson's career and he seems to be a blues aficionado like Keith. On the documentary It Might Get Loud he talks of Son House - Father of Folk Blues album as being his favorite one. On his Third Man Records label he promoted the reissue of some blues albums by Charley Patton, Blind Willie McTell and the Mississippi Sheiks, as well as some Sun Records singles and the Paramount Records boxed-sets. Although I know there's a lot of people who didn't like to see him play with the Stones at the Beacon Theater, I think he would be a very good producer for their new album, if these rumours are true.

I hope this is true. Seems like Jagger has been down in Nashville alot lately. White did wonders for reviving Loretta Lynn's career, and he'd be great for the stones I think.

Jack White would be the right choice in case the Stones are seriously interested in making fools of themselves. JW is the most inappropriate, most unfitting guy for this job one could ever imagine. This would only lead to the slaughter of the Stones.

Jack white knows American roots music has much as Mick and Keith. But he is also a progressist, an accomplished and very wellkown musician/producer. Maybe they are other options for the rolling Stones to choose from but Jack White is a great choice.

If it does happen, I hope he doesn't guest on the album. I don't like his sound at all. He may be a great producer for other artists though.
I am surprised at all the Don Was bashing.
I think "Voodoo Longe" and "Bridges To Babylon" (the bits he produced) sounded superb.
It's hard to tell with "A Bigger Bang" as the mastering destroyed any chance of hearing the artists or producers intentions.
