Strange there's no mention yet of George Harrison. He was one of the best in the business. I guess he doesn't "rock, dude."
The solo on The Lord Loves The One is one of his best-ever solos, and his slide work on Crackerbox Palace is amazing. For beautiful work, listen to the solo on Your Love is Forever.

Well, George Harrison on Lennon's 'Just Give Me Some Truth' is devastating.

Mike Zito from Royal Southern Brotherhood´s Songs From The Road/Live In Germany:

Fire On The Mountain

This one´s got a killer solo from Devon Allman also.
And a thrilling twin lead guitar part at the end.

Zito also slides like very well on Sweet Jelly Donut.

Ry Cooder and Brian Jones are my favourites.

But here's the best one for me right now. Ronnie is underrated.

Of slide playing from the Stones I would say Taylor on MR from Brussels, Keith on Love In Vain, Brian on I Wanna Be Your Man and Ronnie on Hey Negrita from Paris 1976.

Midnight Rambler from Bruessel 1973? I guess there is no slide guitar to be heard (although it´s a great Version of MR and Taylors and Richard´´s playing is outstanding).

Keith on Love In Vain? Which Version are you talking about? Lots of good slide playing by Wood and lots of excellent slide playing by Taylor on lots of different versions. But Keith?
