Just want to chime in on this Eagles discussion.

"A lot of them take Don Felder's side, demonize Henley and Frey for terminating him, and call the History of the Eagles documentary as a hatchet job to take vengeance on Felder."

I didn't see The History of the Eagles as a hatchet job on Don Felder. I felt like I got to hear both parties in a divorce state their case. Felder got to air his complaints. If they wanted to make him look bad, they would have cut out a lot of what ended up in there. Shoot, they even ended it with him saying that he would like to smooth things over - he got to look like the forgiving guy. After watching it, I liked Felder more and Frey less. (Granted, this depends on what annoys you in a person, but I thought the documentary made Glenn look like a real tool.) So to me, it seemed pretty fair to Felder. (Side note: Don Felder's book was pretty cool. Had a nice Keith story too.)

There's no point in taking sides in this. Some people just don't like working with each other. It happens. Stones fans should be used to it.

I had the same exact reaction as you did where i always thought that it was Don Henley but it was Glenn Frey that made him look like a well behaved bandmate ,when i always thought it was Don Henley .Funny how life is like anyway bless Glenn Frey because he did give us some good music both with the Eagles and solo which i had the pleasure of catching both (Frey with Walsh at one show) then less than two years later hell froze over and concert ticket prices have not been that same since!

Why did they select Far Away Eyes as the ending theme?
Is that because all members of guns n roses have far away eyes?smiling smiley

Strange this thread popping up on the first Tell Me page today. Watched "Interview With The Vampire" movie last night (such a bad movie it's good, though, Tom Cruise is over the top) and at the end of the flick as the closing credits started to come on Sympathy For The Devil played. Turns out it was G'n'R' doing a cover version.

That movie was Casablanca compared to axl's version of SFTD

Some songs his voice works great, other songs not so much, that song not at all.

One time back in the day I was really starting to get into Slash's guitar playing from he first "Snake pit" albums and I knew the existing GNR albums and I wanted MOOOARRR SLASH!!!

So I went to a record store (for the kids- record stores used to be a place we could walk into and look around at 12x12 artwork for the music release... think of it like a place we walked in to buy music downloads which came in a package versus using a phone sitting at home)(they also sold CDs) anyway.... all I could find was some LIVE GNR which Geffen had demanded be released so he could make some money... and good grief... I bought it hoping to hear some awesome LIVE Slash licks... but I found it un-listenable. It was ruined by axl screamsqueeking badly all the time. It drowned out Slash. I moved through it one time and never listened to it again. It made me kind of mad at Axl... and I've had some issues with him ever since.

Hank LOL/ Casablanca!

I'm strange and confused as well.
'Far Away Eyes' ?
I looked, thinking it's a joke/ they're singing it finale? Say what?
Now I see (I think, it's dark) recorded RS version played over speakers.
[m.youtube.com]
^^ don't bother to look, not worth it.

Ya know I was going to say....

The only good part of that was we got a CD single release of the song which had an awesome "fire tongue" logo on it.

But as I fact checked myself that CD sinlge did not even come out until 10 years later and Axl is not even on it...

Track Listing
1. Sympathy for the Devil - (Radio Remix, The Neptunes remix, radio edit)
2. Sympathy for the Devil - (Full Length Remix, The Neptunes remix, full)
3. Sympathy for the Devil - (Radio Remix, Fatboy Slim remix, radio edit)
4. Sympathy for the Devil - (Full Length Remix, Fatboy Slim remix, full)
5. Sympathy for the Devil - (Radio Remix, Full Phatt remix, radio edit)
6. Sympathy for the Devil - (Full Length Remix, Full Phatt remix, full)
7. Sympathy for the Devil - (original)

But still a cool fire tongue logo

I guess before I was thinking of this

Like James Bond movies... things start to run together after a while... a long long while

Love Steven but god he is still like a 20 year old most of the time. Good for him that he's better (hopefully permanently this time) but its really like he never grew up. Also, I'm not a fan of him saying stuff like "the magic is gone" about the other guys. I'm far from happy with this tour, but recognize that they did not have to bring you out at all. You don't have to kiss their ass, but airing this stuff out in public is what gets everyone to not work with him. Don't cause more riffs, show that you've changed, and be thankful they brought you out. It'd be like if Mick Taylor said Mick and keith should have used him more. I agree with it, but don't say it outloud, because they didn't have to do anything, so you look better the less you say in public about it. Again, happy for Steven, but that and the fact that he's doing that AMA with his mom... it shows why the others have gone places and he hasn't. His sweetness is infectious though, I'll give that.

And yuo thought Axl was demented?
He's fronting the two greatest rock bands so if G'R dies after the current tour he can rely on AC/DC with a new album and a new tour.

Axl Rose : crazy like a fox! thumbs up
