1969-70 tours. When they didn't play it like the recording. It had swagger. It had attitude. It breathed.
Since then they've destroyed it.
It seems that Keith adapted The Beatles' Day Tripper riff for the 1969/70 live version and then applied it for Dancing With Mr D.

I love all of them. Especially those fantastic 2013-14-versions with Mick Taylor on acoustic guitar, he lifts the song to incredible heights, his genius was never better revealed

Paris '67! IMHO This is the definitive live version of Satisfaction (ok the sound quality is a little rough but as far as a live performance it is an A+ ). Original Golden era Brian Jones line up and the boys are absolutely on fire and totally ripping it up. This is proof of the incredible greatness of the original band and Mick's voice has never sounded better. Nothing post 68 even comes close for me.

You say it all, what I was thinking about, while reading through the thread!
Edited: I have to add that Mick's voice has been great on many, many other occasions as well.
