It seems that Keith adapted The Beatles' Day Tripper riff for the 1969/70 live version and then applied it for Dancing With Mr D.

If you're talking about the counterpoint riff in the outro of the '69 version that's Taylor.

it's genius. never thought of day tripper, although i get it now that it's mentioned. it just makes sense to play. great example of how taylor could work in a positive fashion with the band.
