I think they'll play all the ones they played at the Racket Club. I hope Shattered was just for NYC - it's painful played that bloody slow.

My preferred three:

Live By The Sword
Bite My Head Off
Angry

Would be happy to hear the whole damn thing though. What an album.....

It works way better at that speed, especially for Mick, than the jarring fastness of 1978 or 1981. The 1994 performance was perfect, Charlie playing through the solo to give it swing, which can be heard on the fantastic live boot SPARKS WILL FLY from Giants Stadium.

Here's Tampa 1994

They won't play Out Of Time again, they'll find some other old tune that unknowingly needs to be played. Or has been requested in the past, about 20 years ago, like Flight 505 or probably some other tune from SOME GIRLS or TATTOO YOU.

You left out You Got Me Rocking LOL.

Hopefully they drop SFTD. They could drop YCAGWYW (no one would notice) and Miss You (or at least don't play it for 45 minutes) but, whatever, if Chuck isn't involved perhaps it will be truly different.

Was just about to say that I believe we've seen OOT for the last time (unless it makes a guest appearance as a vote song on a random night).

No need to play Wild Horses or Sweet Virginia ever again.Dreamy skies can hold it’s own against these songs.
If they are really promoting this classic album,I hope we get four songs from it.

Ghost town was the best song they did live last tour if they only did songs from 89 till. Now I would happy out of control another good one live.

More Songs In Concert - Less Long Arrangements, Please
Posted by: exilestones ()

I wish the Rolling Stones would cut down on extended live arrangements in the concert.....example a 5 minute Miss You rather than
8-12 minutes of schtick. We do not need a 8 minute JJ Flash either. Satisfaction in '94 was great (hit me one time...). They've done
those long extended jams.

Same set list total time on stage......we need More Songs packed in.

I saw the Stones play Satisfaction in 'DC 1994, 2nd show. It was short and sweet. It was great!

Let's sell the Hackney Diamonds album! Play the Hackney Diamonds songs. They are made to play live!

More Songs! More Songs! More Songs!

I enjoy long versions of Miss You, JJF and Satisfaction. I bet this will move into the Setlist thread in a very short time. No need for a new thread. This topic has been disscussed hundreds of times.

You're right, Exilstones. But they should have thought about that long ago. By now it doesn't matter. You have to remember they are 80 years old now.
It's a miracle that they are on stage at all. Just play something and everyone will be happy.

...and the 8-15 minutes versions aren't really arrangements, I wouldn't mind that, they just drag on forever.

I have to agree. The drawn out ending for Satisfaction never fails to remind me of the ending to Hot Rocks Polka, or something you’d hear in Vegas. It would be nice to fit in 2-3 other new or rarer songs.

absolutely right.
The only time I liked an extra long performance of Satisfaction was Berlin 2022. At that show the stretched to song exactly until the venue's curfew, In fact a few minutes before the curfew Jagger signaled the band to go on.

Wouldn't you prefer to hear other or new songs instead of a 12 minute version of Miss You, an 8 minute version of Jumpin' Jack Flash or a 10 minute version of Satisfaction?

They've gotten so lost in the midst of those over-performed songs that they have no idea how long they're playing them anymore. Yet they stick to appropriate times with Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Worried About You, Memory Motel, YCAGWYW and Midnight Rambler.

They could easily fit in 4-6 more songs if they didn't play MY, JJF and S for 40 minutes combined.

Re: The Rolling Stones set list discussions

I would like to see them play some of what I call "tour songs".

Finger Print File, Lies, Let Me Go, Sparks Will Fly, Out of Tears, Terrifying, Flip the Switch.

I guess I am just hoping they play some different songs.

If You Can't Rock Me would be one I'd like to see again.

Of course I would love to hear a 30 song setlist with rare stuff and less warhorses. But I'm realistic and I know what the Stones will perform in their concerts. They have a formula that satisfies the concert audience and that's fine for me.

I saw 61 shows (98 different songs!!!) and I know that when I see them live the next time I'm going to hear again long versions of their warhorses and I will enjoy them because I love them and I love the way they celebrate those songs live in concert.
