i read somewhere that the new album will be wall-to-wall chicago-style polka.
can't freaking wait.
Way to spill the beans...but since you did, its actually a double album. Polka cannot be contained by a single disc...
oom pah pah to that.

If that "song" makes Stones-fans mouth-watering, I feel sorry for the rest of you.
It's a drunk Keith Richards making an off-the-cuff jam without any direction.
Once again I'm surprised how low the quality-bar is set for some: As long as it's The Stones, they could play polka for 3 hours and still Stones-fans would argue that it's among the very best. Pfff...
I agree, it's certainly no classic. I do like listening to this sort of stuff though. It gives you an idea of how a band like The Stones work on ideas in the studio, and how those basic ideas and riffs become actual songs. To me this is the beginnings of 'Had it with you.' It's one of the few songs off DW that I like.
Thanks for posting Rip.....

I'm not a native speaker of the English language, but is this another of Keith' play with words?
There is a saying "to the victor go the spoils", isn't it.
So could this song be heard as "to the victor you go", meaning, the "you" being the spoils?
It might be a silly question and everbody figured it out a long time, but please help
this Dutch boy, trying to grasp the meaning?
He's referring to the Victor Hugo hotel in Paris.

Don't want to drift away from the original topic, and maybe what I'm about to mentioned has already been discussed in a different thread;
but have we tried to make a list of our favorite/ cleverest 'word plays' like that? (the "Anita love to keep me happy" is quite an eye opener for me too! )
Only ones I can think of right now are:
'Infamy' / 'in for me'
'Main Offender' / 'Main Of Fender'

100% ... seems like that came out of this demo, I'd have to say.

Treacle darlin', do you see where I wrote "Not that it *was* a demotion!"
That's another way of saying "It wasn't a demotion."

Only with different lyrics, another pianoplayer (STU instead of JOHNNIE JOHNSON!), another drummer (Charlie instead of Steve Jordan) and MICK TAYLOR on guitar...
From the TALK IS CHEAP innersleeve:
I COULD HAVE STOOD YOU UP
Keith Richards: Lead and backgroud vocals, guitar
Mick Taylor: Guitar
Steve Jordan: Drums, background vocals
Joey Spampinatio: Bass
Chuck Leavell: Organ
Bobby Keys: Tenor Sax.
What a line-up and what a great album TALK IS CHEAP 1988. The Best Rolling Stones Solo Album Of All Time with MICK's WANDERING SPIRIT.
Maybe we should look at all the tracks on these soloalbums as STONES outtakes
