Pretty amazing list. Maybe we'll see a skit where Kayne interrupts Keith and gets a taste of his tele to the head. grinning smiley peace

In 1988 Keith said something funny to Tom Hanks in the dressing room at the start of the show when the camera was following Hanks backstage. That night Keith did two songs with the Winos.

Maybe they'll air something from 78 and 88? I'd love to see the outtake from 78 -
the comedy sketch that they decided against showing at the time. In addition to some current Keith I mean!

They've been doing non-stop SNLs on VH1 for the last week, and a couple nights back did the 78 Stones episode. Had the skit where Ronnie and Charlie were at the cheeseburger, cheeseburger joint. Ronnie gets a few lines, Charlie a little muttering.

I know that " cheeseburger, cheeseburger" skit well.
They did also do (or anyway attempt) a skit with Keith in it,
and what I mean is that it would be sweet to see it finally.

I believe it will be a current/recent, possibly pre-recorded - or maybe even a live cameo from Keith.
Perhaps only a word or two such as "Congrats" or "Gold rings on ya".

Anybody remember the Mike Myers skit where he was playing Ronnie at a gun range.

The only "funny" years for SNL...1975-80, 1985-95. The rest is pure sheeyut.

It's all opinion so I'm not dissing anyone else's. But since the original cast left the consensus is always that SNL isn't what it used to be. Actually (IMO again) those early years are largely unwatchable. Unfocused, underwritten, lazy, with too many cheap shots. Though there is no denying individual talents.

I favor the "Phil Hartman" era (mid/late 80s - early/mid 90s) when it seemed they increased the budget for writing, production, and cast. But since and continuing there are wonderful shows and years. Will Ferrell, Kristin Wiig, Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan along with many cast members from those recent years are top notch. It is uncanny how many have gone on to at least reasonable success (esp Jimmy Fallon though he's not my fave). And the current cast is extremely talented -- the women in particular stand out. And the writing overall (considering the weekly nature of the show) is strong. There will always be duds and clinkers in there but that's part of the fun.

I sometimes wonder how many critics of current SNL actually watch the show!

Wasn't there also a sketch with Mick playing Keith and someone, maybe Jimmy Fallon, playing Mick?

I remember a "Cooking with Keith" skit from the late 80s that was pretty funny, which shows how long-lived the image of that Keith really was.

Yes, that was the one where Larraine Newman said of Keith "Now I know what it's kike to work with a dead person".

Yeah, he gets by on basically scream singing nowadays. Whatever small limitations that Mick might have now vocally pale in comparison with almost all his contemporaries.
