She's A Rainbow worked a treat when my daughter was 2. But I found it a lot easier to get her into The Beatles because of the Yellow Submarine film.
She really went for psychedelic imagery - Lucy In The Sky, Strawberry Fields Forever, I Am The Walrus. Then she really got into Pink Floyd's See Emily Play.
She's 6 now and sure she'll eventually get round to digging the Stones more but at the moment it's Michael Jackson, Abba - that kind of thing.
I'm not a very good singer. And I do not often remember lyrics. But one song I remember the lyrics to is sympathy for the devil. So this is the song I have been singing for my kids while changing diapers and when they are going to sleep. Guess I only have my self to blame if things go very wrong when they get older....
My kids loved singing along to the chorus of Get Off My Cloud. We listened to it everyday in the car on the way home from elementary school. Now in their 20's they are life long Stones fans.
