On Friday March 29 2013, we began seeing promo billboards for the North American leg of the 50 and Counting tour. They all had messages like Satisfaction Wednesday, Start Me Up Wednesday, etc. Then the tour was announced the following Wednesday on April 3 2013.

It seems clear the Stones wanted to announce today. So something very important must have changed or gotten screwed up.

Bit early yet (at least here on the west coast) to be throwing the band under the (tour) bus..

I'm betting we hear from them soon...

Hope no one had a heart attack while sitting on the toilet (Elvis)

It is probably great fun to make quoting on the 15th level, making posts looking like a Christmas tree, put please don't do it. It is messing up the readability, and what if there was an important message in-between all these Xmas trees, and it was missed due to the Xmas tree spam?

Thank you BV!
Trying to weed thru this to see if there is any relevent info is annoying to say the least!

Yes those christmas tree posts are annoying but I have a hard time thinking I am going to miss anything so important here it can't wait until I get back from next smoke, or beer, or whatever ... relax and enjoy and embibe!

Hope this delay is in part for adding shows to NYC or NJ or Philly.

Oh yeah! I think Seattle is probably more likely than Vancouver though. Never know. SLC would be awesome too.

AXS was an hour late on Fogerty presale so maybe they don't understand EST on the left coast, maybe they are on drugs, or perhaps just grossly incompetent. Here's hoping they are switching promoters.

According to Billboard magazine, Australian promoter Paul Dainty and Virgin music will be promoting the tour. Another source told Billboard that, "May 2nd is the launch day. I've heard West Coast cities - L.A. And Seattle. But I think they're going to do some back East as well."

Dainty and Virgin (who had produced the 5 "50th shows" ) were supposed to produce the 2013 TOUR as explained in this BB article [www.billboard.com] - then things fell through at the 11th hour and AEG got the gig...

Question for Kurt,

You've mentioned you live in "a box under the overpass" near one of the billboards in Detroit (BTW, wondering if that is anything like living in "a van down by the river", but I digress...). Someone posted a few pages back that the billboard in their area is no longer displaying the Stones advertisement. Is that the case w/ the billboard near your "box" as well?

Sorry for the delay in response, Plink.
I walked up to the party store to cash in some returnable cans that I found.
Here's the billboard today...
No joke.
The Stones Tongue is GONE.

The Rolling Stones to make announcement on Orlando concert

By Kayla O'Brien, Web Producer

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Central Florida rock fans can expect some good news in the near future.

The Rolling Stones is announcing new information about its upcoming concert at the Citrus Bowl.

“The Stones” will be playing in Orlando on June 12th as part of its upcoming U.S. tour.

Officials say the band hasn't played in the City Beautiful since 1997.

Fans should expect to know how much tickets cost as part of the announcement.

I would say that there will be some form of announcement from the Stones saying get ready for a press conference, or web announcement etc. at a specific date and time. I don't think they are going to make an announcement without people knowing to tune in for it.

Wasn't May 2nd the first show of the 2013 tour?

It's NCAA tourney time starting today here in the States, they should have realized it was a dumb day to be announcing anyway. Much of their target audience will be preoccupied.
