The Rolling Stones are rumoured to be working on a short tour of North America during the late spring around May 2015, then later on Oct/Nov 2015 the South American tour originally planned for early next year.

Among the North American dates they are rumoured for is this one:

Rock In Rio USA LAS Vegas
May 8-9 and 15-16, 2015

The band hasn't confirmed they are going to be there...yet!

They've basically been there since about 2005.

Incredible, really...how many more can they possibly do?

I know people in Vegas, tempting for me as I missed the opportunity when they were in NYC metro area last year.

I think they do North America to "keep warm". As we know they tend to "go rusty" if they rest too long. Better to get paid for a handful or two real gigs with a paying and excited crowd than three weeks of rehearsals in South America. Then they go south pretty fresh a few months later, and like in Adelaide, they do only need one week of rehearsals locally.

Sounds like June, July or August is a good time to come to London to see the great music in Town.

Stones will be playing a few gigs in the Summer in London I hope.

I think they would be playing the May 8-9 dates as that is the weekend dedicated to rock. The following weekend of the 15-16 is the pop weekend.

Las Vegas makes sense because promoters would clamor over The Stones in the right setting. The right casino owner who has a concert venue would self insure or take care of any insurance problem the Stones might have in the future.

Promoted properly The Stones could have a three performance residency there. The casino tie-ins have limitless possibilities.

it is the USA franchise of the "Rock in Rio" festival they played in Lisbon

If you want to adapt that Las Vegas term, you might as well resign to the conventional perspective that the last deed of Bill Wyman as a Rolling Stone was to contribute to that. Sweet memories!

The "Rock Weekend" headliners are currently No Doubt (Friday) and Metallica (Saturday). The "Pop Weekend" headliners are Taylor Swift (Friday) and Bruno Mars (Saturday). I would assume that if the Stones appear, it would be on "rock weekend". While Metallica remains very popular, I don't think they could attract 85,000 people at ticket prices of 295/495. No Doubt obviously could not. I guess I could see the Stones headlining over either Metallica or No Doubt, which means either Friday, May 8 or Saturday, May 9.
