I have always loved the Sympathy from Hyde Park 69. To me, nothing beats the drummers intro and the damn thing runs for 18 minutes, how can you beat that!

The long Sympathy from Hyde Park has always been my favorite live version of that song.

Yeah, when I got the vinyl bootleg Who went to church (just 9-10 songs on it) right from the start I liked Gimme Shelter - and electric Wild Horses.

I just cannot believe that nobody even remotely hints at L&G's All down the line. That is just pure passion with one of MT's best slide performances.

It is interesting to note that there are so few citations to tracks from the Brian era for the Greatest Live Stones Track. I am surprised with all the Brian fans on here.

Good call! That version still gives me chills...I remember just getting into the Stones in high school and seeing the MTV Stripped special, and that was the song that completely blew me away.

Amazing dual lead work from Keith and Ronnie and Lisa was on fire.

I also love the version of Rip This Joint from that special, where Bobby plays the sax right into Mick's vocal mic. Classic old school moment...and Jack Nicholson was sitting up in the balcony with Jerry.

...and Lisa hittin' that high note, to me the best she ever sounded (maybe that's another thread).

Any number of times I've heard that live, with Lisa on back up has got to be one of the highlights of the show.

I've heard that one and thought - and still do - that it wasn't as good a the Gimme Shelter from NO SECURITY. Which is pretty gotdamned good.

I am still more of a fan of Shelter from 72 and 73 than after, but 95 Paradiso is good.

One version is REALLY great from the modern era - 2002 PacBell - WOW!
