She's the boss 1985 Vs Dirty Work 1986

Although I really like the meatiness of One hit and Winning Ugly, (especially the 12" mixes) overall I have to say although slightly whimsical and maybe the guitar sound is now probably a bit dated, I do like 'She's the boss' better.
It's light, fresh and good fun with plenty of self deprecating humour in the mix.....Ex....good one Mick...

I find the guitar sound on She's The Boss even more dated.

Tracks comparison ("winner" in bold):

Lonely At The Top vs. One Hit (To The Body)
Half A Loaf vs. Fight
Running Out Of Luck vs. Harlem Shuffle
Turn The Girl Loose vs. Hold Back (equally bad)
Hard Woman vs. Too Rude
Just Another Night vs. Winning Ugly
Lucky In Love vs.Back To Zero (equally bad)
Secrets vs. Dirty Work
She's The Boss vs. Had It With You
Sleep Tonight
Key To The Highway

She's The Boss: 4 vs. Dirty Work: 5 (or more correctly: 4,5 - since KTTH is only a snippet)

That's what I've said...."overall I have to say (although) maybe the guitar sound is now probably a bit dated, I do like 'She's the boss' better".

I think I'd choose...

Lonely At The Top vs. One Hit (To The Body)
Half A Loaf vs. Fight
Running Out Of Luck vs. Harlem Shuffle
Turn The Girl Loose vs. Hold Back
Hard Woman vs. Too Rude
Just Another Night vs. Winning Ugly
Lucky In Love vs.Back To Zero
Secrets vs. Dirty Work - 0-0 draw - Secrets wins on penatiies
She's The Boss vs. Had It With You
Sleep Tonight

So, 7-2 with Sleep tonight as a good consolation goal

Neither of them have stood the test of time. On the other hand, very few do. I'll go by what I thought when they were released: DW disappointed me more than STB because I had higher expectations on that one.
STB wasn't a hit but at that time I though it was okey. The Mick bashing hadn't started yet back in 1985...

It started WITH She's The Boss, and it was Keith's comments that kicked it off, I guess...

yeah STB is the hands down winner, although I'll admit to not listening to it in over 25 years.

Just seeing the thread title made me cringe. UGH.

Uh, I'd have to go with DIRTY WORK. Under duress, of course.

They are both objectively awful. A low point for both the band and jagger solo.

Dirty Work was a little bit of a let down compared to UnderCover but for some reason people bash the heck out of She's the Boss. It is an album that I think it is easy on the ears, especially if you listen to the whole thing continuously. Mick obviously kept back material for his solo, so it's hard for me to knock Dirty Work. I still remember how excited I was to get home and play it. No Start Me Up kind of single, I do believe One Hit to the Body was real good but it was off in a certain part for me, where they repeat to the body, I think , too many times and sounds akward.

I will take ANY Rolling Stones album over ANY Rolling Stones solo album. They will ALWAYS be the Greatest Rock n Roll Band! When they play together it is truly magical, and no artist or band compares to them!

It was Jagger’s solo debut and he obviously didn’t want to sound like the Stones – it was a fantastic success in that regard. And fans of Mick Jagger loved it. Besides, Hard Woman, Lonely At The Top, 1/2 A Loaf and Just Another Night, are as well crafted pop songs as anything on Dirty Work (an album which which fans of the Rolling Stones hated). So She’s The Boss wins.

DW is far better because The Rolling Stones is far better then Mr. Jagger's band.
There are some really good work on DW like "Had It With You" "Sleep Tonight" "Too Rude". She's The Boss is very pop to my ears, it's not rock'n' roll.

Dirty Work wins by a landslide!
Well maybe not by that much...maybe by a few grains of sand?
No, way more than that... a bunch of Stones. Yeah that's it.

dirty Work is vastly superior to She's the Boss, and Undercover is vastly superior to Dirty Work, and Let it Bleed is vastly superior to Undercover.

What does it all mean? Simple: never place she's the boss and let it bleed next to one another in your record collection or a singularity in space/time will occur, the entire planet will be converted to pure energy and we will all be vaporized.
