As a pure bonus I'll give you my Top 5 list of Bowie albums also:
Station to Station
Loaded
Heroes
Low
Scary Monsters
?? LOADED is by The Velvet Underground!
Maybe Come On means "Lodger"...?
Come On Indeed! If CO meant to write LODGER then I am super impressed -- Bowie's most underrated album IMO and definitely in my personal top 5!
Yeah, I meant 'Lodger'....brilliant 5 in row from David...

Dylan is my favorite artist. I really like Shadows of the Night. Of course his mid 60's albums are iconic, but I really listen most to "ModBob", Cowboy-bluesy Bob of the past 20 years. Oh Mercy, Time Out Of Mind, Love and Theft, Modern Times, Tell Tale Signs, Together Through Life, Tempest and now Shadows Of The Night (throw in World Gone Wrong too). I can never be satiated with Modern Day Bob & throw in "best of Live versions of the Never Ending Tour). Of course the live Bob is hit or miss, with drastic difference of quality night to night , or even song to song lol. I do wish he would of put more tender loving care regarding his studio takes / performences of the songs "Pay in Blood", Duquesne Whistle, song Tempest, & Forgetful Heart, but hey It's all Good.... I hope he keeps working his magic. Long live Mr Dylan! The MEZ

Well since Bowie hijacked the thread, my top five:
Station to Station
Hunky Dory
Diamond Dogs
Young Americans
Low
with Heathen deserving a tie with Low. An amazing later day artistic statement from the Thin White Duke.

ok , i just listened to Bob's new album (the sinatra album ) , i know it is not everybody's cup of tea but, the bard knocked out of the park . i have to agree with rolling stone's review that said his voice has not sounded this good since john wessley harding. Bob Dylan can sing any genre and nail it perfect .such soul and emotion dripping from his voice .i can just picture him as a lounge lizard singer in some two bit joint .

I recall an interview or possibly it was in his Chronicle book when he was uninspired and lost for musical direction. Strangely, it was watching just such a lounge lizard singer in some two bit joint that somehow pulled him out of his slump. peace

If I'm not wrong, this is mentioned by Dylan on his Chronicles book. I think he was in New Orleans recording a new album (Oh, Mercy, if I'm not mistaken) and at some point he felt he needed some fresh air and went to a club. After watching a concert he went back to the studio and he could work again on his album.
that is so wild . monday when i listened to his new album for the first time i envisioned Dylan in some two bit joint .wow !!!Quote
