Today was unreal! Of some 20 songs played, we got 15 rarely played songs, an insight in how the band works - all with sound exceeding our wildest expectations. We even found a peep hole where we could watch the big screen.

Highlights: Take 3 of CYHMK and take 2 of Can't Be Seen. A wonderful Worried About You as well.

I arrived when they rehearsed If You Can’t Rock Me. I was told by the fans already there that they had rehearsed Emotional Rescue a couple of times.
We found a nice spot outside the corner end of the arena where the sound was more than OK. Telenor Arena has a bad reputation for bad sound and acoustics,
but the way the band sounded outside promises good for a great concert inside soundwise.
Then they played (in order):

Street Fighting Man – a raw and sharp version with great playing by Keith.
Respectable – a great, energetic version that demonstrates that Stones not just rock, but ROLL.
Worried About You – a nice surprise. Great guitar work by Ronnie.
Brown Sugar – a solid, tight version.

Then we were introduced to a new guitar player. Mick Taylor’s tone is unique and unmistakable.
He played some lovely blues licks, and we all expected Midnight Rambler, but then he started to play You Gotta Move – and the band followed (without vocals), but never completed it.

Sway – A rather short version. Taylor could have played longer. Hope the band allows him to do that on Monday!
Doom and Gloom
Ruby Tuesday
Satisfaction – with Lisa on vocals

*Break *

Rocks Off
IORR
Out of Control
Dead Flowers
Can’t You Hear Me Knocking? – They had do restart it twice. They also rehearsed the opening riff for the second part after the last chorus a couple of times to get it right. Mick Taylor delivered an absolutely fantastic solo.
Beast of Burden
You got the Silver
Can’t Be Seen – A nice surprise in the end which sounded very good!

As highlights I have to add Sway and IORR. The beginning of Sway was "right in your face" and IORR sounded really great. A proof of how tight and good they are right now.

Had a great time last night outside Telenor Arena.

Decided to go into town about 7pm after a tiring first day ever in beautiful Oslo.

After getting lost repeatedly all day thought I'd try to see Telenor Arena, thinking, too late for hearing or seeing The Rolling Stones.

Got off the bus and saw a few people walking away from the venue and ran up to find out what happened.

Had a great welcome from our lads reporting what we love to hear about, and told me they were still playing.
They were just moving to a better position for the sound.
Great view of what was going on through the peephole.

So glad I made it there last night, and what a great bunch of Viking Stones fans they were.

DP, gibsonman,The Worst, Eric, whose IORR name I can't remember and a few more, including of course, BV who I hadn't seen since 2007.

It was a real pleasure to meet and talk about our favourite band with such a nice bunch of people.

A couple of nice female fans and a lovely red setter and toddler with a cool Stones T shirt were also there.

We did have a pint or two in an Irish pub in the centre of Oslo as well, to finish off a great night . smileys with beer

Sounds promising with all these quite rare songs played at the rehearsals. Now, just hope they will play them at the concerts too.
Is the weather warm and beautiful in Oslo too? According to the weatherforecast it will stay warm for the whole weekend. And Monday too.
