Replacement! That's ridiculous and a rip off!
What rip off? Anyone can return their tickets for the US shows and I am sure it will be the same if Brian doesn't recover for the European shows. They probably wouldn't plan any tour without Brian, but now when all the shows are pretty much sold out, I think it is fair to do them the best way they can and let people decide whether they really want to go or not. Nobody gets ripped off. Okay, except of those who bought their tickets from scalpers. But the band can not be really held responsible for that.
not true, read my post. stubhub is pretty much forcing me and my friends to keep our tickets
Please read my post first. The whole post
I did but stubhub isn't scalpers and not even 10 minutes after tickets were on sale ticketmaster was sold out.
anyways brian isn't coming back. if he was stubhub wouldn't have went against their own policy and refunded everyones tickets
Well, I think we should agree, that the band can not be held responsible for the way stubhub works or behaves in this particular case. But of course, the fact that you are not able to get refund sucks and I wish you good luck so that you would be able to sort it out. I have never seen AC/DC and have a ticket for one of the European shows. I am still not sure what will I do if I have to decide either to keep the ticket or return it. I would love to see Angus at least once, but it is true, that the price is ridiculous for an "Angus and Friends" show.

Replacing Brian isn't nearly as easy as it seems.
There are a lot of rock'n'roll screamers out there, but Brian's blue-collar everyman image is important to AC/DC.
IMAGE, not reality. They're all richer than god, but I've never seen any of them dressed in anything other than jeans and t-shirts or workshirts. They're the plainest-dressing rock stars I've ever seen.Quote

You sure? At 130$ a ticket for their recent tour of arenas the blue-collar image is in the rearview mirror, no?
This. I saw a great interview with Brian a few years back on That Metal Show where he said he's one of the luckiest people in the music business in that he rarely gets recognized in public yet he's the front man for one of the most successful stadium rock bands of all time. Steven Tyler is completely different, he's a showman.Quote

Of course...that was my point earlier about the Stones, and OF COURSE I feel terrible for Brian. He seems like such a top guy, so jovial and full of energy. This is just awful.Quote

This thread is quite bizarre, in my humble opinion.
Our thoughts should be with Brian and his health.
Instead some seem so eager to replace him with a "guest vocalist"
It's such a sad situation.
I hate to draw the comparison, but if our heroes went out on tour without MJ and RW, would you still want to go? Would you even agree with the logic to carry on?

I had tickets for the Garden but I rather have Brian take a break and get well. He has to stop driving those race cars!

Brian does not have a cold or a sore throat. He has, apparently, damaged his hearing to the extent that he risks losing it altogether. He may be able to record with the band, but I cannot imagine how he could perform live knowing the likely consequences.

Is this thread still going?
Nobody wants to pay current AC/DC prices to see anyone other than Brian Johnson, seriously. With Brian, Angus, and Phil out of the lineup this is basically a tribute band. If Malcom wants to tour solo playing smaller venues with a solid Brian soundalike i'd fine with that sorta like what Slash does when he tours by himself. I'd definitely pay money to see Malcom play AC/DC and blues songs with a solo band but I wouldn't pay $150 to see said act in a giant stadium like I did last summer.
Sorry, got my brothers mixed up. CorrectedQuote

Angus. Angus tour solo. I don't think Malcolm will be doing any touring ever again unfortunately.
