Yep you open a show with a bang, not with a slow song!
Imo the band realized opening the 94-95 gigs with NFAway wasn't that great.
"It would be truly historic but would take tremendous courage"
The band won't let a personal (Mick's tragedy) be recycled into concerts' setlists are built and I'm fine with that.

Umm, I think Mick's return to the stage after the suicide of his longtime lover will be a poignant moment. He can choose to showcase the moment and the emotion or he can just start prancing about like nothing happened.
Love in Vain fits the bill perfectly..Just for the first show and first song back!

Love in vain is not a opener the Stones would ever kick off a rock show
with. The same with Down In the hole, You got the blues.
They want to start it with a BANG!

Something different - a tune they've never opened with. Something good too.

I'd give my left testicle for this one.
