Thanks for doing the TV research, Mr DJA. It looks as if most of the live coverage will be on NBCSN, which I don't think I get. Looks like I'm finally going to have to figure out how to connect my computer to the TV via the blu-ray player and router etc.--sigh.

You're very welcome Aquamarine. Considering that my wife & I just downgraded our cable package, I was actually pleasantly surprised to see that our provider's website says that we DO get NBCSN. I'll believe it when I can see it at home. I'm still thinking that I'm going to end up with an "app" before it's all over as well.

I'm right there with you in the group that hasn't managed to connect a computer or a phone to a tv through wi-fi. I'm hoping that, when the time comes, my phone's offer to "Media Share" makes it somewhat "idiot-proof" for me. The phone seems to know that it can connect whenever I get around my blu-ray player, I've just never actually done it... Pretty sure my daughter is coming home from college this weekend, maybe she can show me how to do it... Or do it for me! Let her earn that next tuition payment she's counting on her mother and me making!

Peace,
Mr DJA

Note: Anyone who has any knowledge/success getting NBC's streaming media to display on their TV will be more than welcomed by me if they can share any insight/knowledge/how-to advice that will help people like me get to where you are technologicly speaking.

Curling is the only thing I watch

I saw a live curling match in Vancouver 2010...It was Germany and Sweden maybe, I can't remember. It was just great being there!

I was just thinking about that skit...that and Blades of Glory, the stupidly entertaining movie with Will Farrell.

I like the figure skating, but I think the ski competitions are the most fun to watch.

Seriously, I can't wait for the Games to begin, I love the Winter Olympics especially. I agree with the time zone difference, there will be many late nights in my near future for sure.

Does anyone know what if any bands will be involved in the opening ceremony?

From the Opening Ceremony Guide on Yahoo:

"The theme song of the 2014 Winter Olympics is 'My Day' performed by Danielle Bradbery. Many other details have remained a secret. A few performers linked to the Opening Ceremony are viola player Yuri Bashmet along with conductor Valery Gergiev, as well as Russian pianist Denis Matsuev.

St. Petersburg's Mariinsky Theater ballerina Ulyana Lopatkina is also scheduled to appear.

We will have to wait and see what else the Olympic Committee has in store.
