It was a long wait tonight and the weather was not on our side. Finally they speeded into a blues, impossible to tell what it was. Then "Let It Bleed" and lots more interesting stuff. I will make the complete list later on.

The real goosebumps part arrived later, with "STREET FIGHTING MAN". It was played like it was the final song of thee night, an amazing powerful version, where Charlie did so hard and intense drumming I was sure they would have to carry him to the car. I walked over to the gate, preparing myself to say goodnight. Meanwhile they rushed into "You Got Me Rocking".

OK so they were not finsished by far, because the best was yet to come. SWAY. Some testing of the intro, then they were into it and I was glued to the fence. The Mick Taylor solo hit me right into the heart. It was short but there is quality and quantity. It tasted so good I can't wait until the first show of the tour with that solo.

One More Shot is back, two takes, and it is there, just as they did it when we were the lucky 32 fans to attend the rehearsals of the very same song last time they were in Paris.

All in all, a great night, wet, yes, cold yes, but emotional, powerful and a great memory. Thanks to the Stones and all my friends who I met up with tonight.

What's with all the Taylor jibes? I met him on Monday & he was a gentleman. It really gets on my nerves when people think they're due something from the band. That's not the deal. If they feel like it, they'll say hi, sign an autograph, pose for a picture. If they don't? They won't. Simple. Doesn't really merit the snide remarks...

A guy posted this comment today on the Zegut website:

"From the latest news from some media, there will be no concert in Paris before their tour, the band did not find a room that suits them.
...Unless a last minute surprise."

What do you think?
I think it's true because no more buzz about this gig since 1-2 days confused smiley

Well, I'm a big Mick Taylor fan and his wonderful guitar playing and I only would like to see him smile a little bit and enjoy this new chance to play again with The Rolling Stones!

I just want to hear Mick Taylor play the guitar as much as possible on this tour. Nothing more, nothing less. The way it should be.

WOW! Getting hot in here about Mick T.!!!!

I really like Mick Taylor's playing, and I think that the band was never better (perhaps equalled, but never better) than with him. That said, meeting these folks is not always pleasant. I met Mick Taylor in 1992 on the Tumblin Dice tour in Atlanta, GA, and he was hardly a gentleman. (Bobby Keys was a nice guy and played incredibly well, as did Ivan Neville!)

I can see Mick T is in a better place now, and for this, I am very happy both for him and for the band.

HERE's BEST WISHES FOR A GREAT TOUR, MICK, and I hope the sun shines on your guitar every day!!!!!

From Mick's blog:

The band will treat their generations of fans to a set packed full of classic Stones hits such as “Gimme Shelter”, “Paint It Black”, “Jumping Jack Flash”, “Tumbling Dice” and “It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll”, combined with lesser known gems, plus a couple of unexpected cover versions.

What unexpected cover versions?

Maybe Taylor is ill or something...
But they look all great!!
14 On Fire will be on fire for sure!
detoxing with downtime can be a bitch. And his huge weight loss is due to a lifestyle change. Throw in he's on the verge of a strenous tour with more responsiblities with the band I figure he's jonesin pretty bad. Breaking addiction can be super stressful on the body. I've seen that look before. Give 'em a break. He was cool when I met him at the Coachhouse. And he'll burn up the stage this go around.

Mick Taylor looks quite healthy and sharp.

Yup STrain and Sway were without a doubt the highlights of yesterday's rehearsals.
The two takes of OMS were kind of a letdown after so many gems.

Stones live time is too precious these days.
I want my band playing their songs.

How can you be let down when the play OMS??? It is a great song and rather suitable for the GRRR... Tour!!

OMS should be their new You Got Me Rocking, played in the 2nd or 3rd spot.

Stir things up a bit..... Then they should bring back I Go WIld and play Pretty Beat Up too. That would be something!!!!

Look at how effortless and easy the playing of Mick Taylor seems to be...

His fingers just work perfectly in that video.

It gives me the kind of feeling like I could pick the guitar myself and play it like him without any difficulty...
