It's funny reading how fans who haven't seen them this go round yet are expressing their desires for what they want them to play. Just give up. You'll be lucky if Taylor gets more than one number. Keith is limited now. The setlist might, just might, have one surprise a night. Other than that it's pretty much a warhorse/greatest hits show. They've lost a step, except for Jagger. That's just the way it is. Maybe you'll be the lucky ones that attend a show where they peel back the years a smidge just one more time. I truly hope they do.

The thing is though, every now and again, even now , they pull it out of the bag - usually when Keith is having a good night - that's the pleasure - you can't be absolutely sure ....

Nice, I really like Till The Next Goodbye (you mean this track from iorr, right?) - hope they play it on tour.

Yep, that one, never played live, but plays at the end of SSS. Now TWFNO...that would be something! Full band today, including Matt Clifford.

They will do THREE - 3 - shows in Tokyo so my guess is Tokyo will be the city where most of the rare stuff will be performed, especially at show number three. Just a note to tell from past experience.

Exactly! Hope to see you there.

It will be very special. First shows I see in Asia, first shows with my wife whose first visit to Tokyo it will be, first show of a couple of my best friends who moved recently to Tokyo.

I wonder what they will do during the 'break' between #1 and #2. Eat a lot of sushi?

I'll be heading to Nagano region to do some photography if I don't see a reason to stay Stones related.

In any case I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

They rehearsed Till the Next Goodbye today???

I guess Mick is trying to drive traffic to the YouTube video page.

Silver Train and Till the Next Goodbye are rare, although Silver Train was played in 1973, but there are also videos of the songs which people can see. So even when Mick goes deeper into the vaults, he's still somewhat calculating and at the same time playing it relatively safe. Interesting.

I'm not sure what else you can expect from a band with its key members in their 70s. It is what it is. By what scale can you judge them on? You can't compare their shows today to any others simply because physically they're not capable of what they could do even ten years ago. Which is really a natural part of aging. While I don't think they should get a free pass, at the same time, all expectations have to be tempered at this stage of the game. IMHO it's still really marvel they're out there at it, but at the same what else would we expect. They're performers, musicians, entertainers--it's what they do. And even if they are nowhere near where they were in their younger days, who is? The fact is the Stones still know how to put on a high-level rock n roll concert. They are savy veterans and craftsman, a pro's pro if you will. This is their victory lap stage, let's all enjoy it for it is and for as long as it can last. Because the final Rolling Stones show ever is on the horizon and that will be a sad (and for many) frightening day. They and the rest of us are all "another moonlight mile, on down the road, on down the road"...fade to coda

They are missing a trick - and this is it....

Stop Breaking Down

A free extended jam number somewhere in the middle to loosen everyone up and give them all the freedom to solo - esp M Taylor and Jagger on harp. It just can't fail.

Wish I'd put a special request on B. Vik's thread of a while back.Probably too late now.

But just imagine and/or dream. Or both.

Infact .... while in fantasy mode .....

immediately followed by Shine A Light.

You'll get the full setlist from other IORR members (or from BV himself) but today it was quite exciting.
You really feel that they're fired up and eager to hit stages. They sound good, they go from song to song without a glitch (MR, Some Girls, She Was Hot, Whip, etc).

THEY ARE READY! thumbs up

They have better songs to choose from than Till The Next Goodbye and Streets Of Love!

Why not Coming Down Again and If You Really Want To Be My Friend instead?

Even Indian Girl would be more interesting than SOL, imo. And, yes, SOL was very good on the BB tour.

Oops! I'm whining... Sorry smiling smiley

It's nice that they try out songs never or rarely played.

I must say that if the actual setlists in the concerts will follow these rehearsal setlists at all, they will play many more my favorite songs than in the last tour they did... Of course the latter half of the concerts will be "the warhorse section" but the first half...

And for example Love in Vain has now been thoroughly rehearsed I guess but I wonder if Mick Taylor has played in it, I really wish he will play in it...
