Re. Stoneage.

It's all true - I've got better things to do than lie about a longtime friend.

Definitely last post.

I think it's great when anyone who knows or knew a Rolling Stone posts on here.
Let's face it, it doesn't happen very often. We should count ourselves lucky. >grinning smiley<

I believe you, Drummerboy. Don't stop posting here. You haven't broken any rule. As I said, It's great to hear something from someone who actually knows anything from time to time!

This thread is almost 10 years old and need not be revived. The boss (bv) don't like it when you do that. Start a new thread, Drummer Boy.

When you have played hundreds of shows with Mick Taylor, we will make an exception for him! I'm sure Bjørnulf will, too.

One of the tracks on his first solo effort was called Alabama. I wrote the lyrics for that. I should add that I wrote more verses than Mick sang - knowing him he probably mislaid the others.

That's very interesting. According to the Taylorites here he would never do such a thing - it would be him that gets exploited smiling smiley

What exploitation? Colin was co-credited for the song on the album.

It would be nice if he posted the rest of the lyrics here.

Guess I broke the rules again.
Time to call it a day with this forum stuff.

Maybe but this thread is really fascinating given all the developments (Mick now back with the Stones as a special guest) and the overall timeline of the posts. Understand why there should generally be a new thread but this topic is really unique in my opinion. My two cents anyway. I've enjoyed reading what people have shared here.

Tatters- You never know what your gonna get with this guy, very moody....
but alot of the "greats" are quirkey... he toured Canada after 2001 so....

If the Stones asked him to come along and play some gigs in N. America, he'd
be there in a flash!!!! MLC

You said this in 2006!! It was prophetic!! It is exactly what happened

I always got the impression that he admired Jeff Beck's playing a lot.

Who doesn't smiling smiley

When Mick Taylor was asked by "Rolling Stone" to list the 100 best guitarists 2012 (for what it's worth), according to him it was something like:

1 Jimi Hendrix
2 Jeff Beck
3 John McLaughlin
4 Eric Clapton

Good taste, imo.
