The "Sticky Fingers" Mono promo LP does exist. It was sent out to US AM (they were still the king of radio in 71) stations on a white label. I have the boot cdr that was released a few years back. It also has a "test Acetate" disc of "Exile on Main St" (not mono) as bonus disc. I love the "SF"LP regardless if its a fold down" (?) or not. It just cooks, especially "Can't You Hear Me Knockin?"...smokin'!!!
OK - Got it ! Monaural is the word in it´s original form - normally knownQuote

Thanks a lot for the info !
Had only seen photos of it, - The orange sticker with the word "MONARUAL"
on it, - quite puzzled me, - where does that word come from ?
Can see it´s auctioned once in a while - not the cheapest piece of vinyl !

I wonder what type of Mono that are recorded in the period 1970-82, if it goes to compare with Monorecordings 1958-1969 for example ...

How many of the monos after '72 or so were actual dedicated mixes and not fold-downs?

<One way of comparing could be playing the stereo-version, in mono - if your amplifier has this function - of course - using just one loudspeaker, - and then playing the mono-version with a true mono-cartridge.
This is at least what I´m planning to do . . . . but there are a lot of options . . .>
Why only one speaker - you will hear the difference anyhow?

I"m pretty surprised how many mono mixes were done in the 70s and early 80s. I had no idea they were still being done after the 60s. Thanks for the info!

There´s two different 1972 mono versions of All Down The Line. (Happy is identical (mono) on both presses, matrix RS- 24181-1)
1. The regular mix, but completely in mono. (Album mix has some backing vocals in stereo, IIRC) This I have on a yellow US 7", matrix SR-R.S. 24186-1
2. Alternate mix (as below). Different intro, more backing vocals and piano, also longer. On white US promo 7", matrix RS- 24186-2
Great info Rootsman !
Thanks a lot !

Does the "single mix" of Rocks Off have a longer outro?

Question for Rootsman :
There are at least 6 yellow-labeled US-releases of Happy / All down the line,
and I can´t see any SR-R.S. 24186-1, - I suppose this is the run-out matrix-engraving (?) - Could you post all numbers labeled on the All down the line-side, - helping to identify a copy. Thxs a Lot !

You should all hear the genuine mono mix, extended outro.
Rocks Off: Three collectible versions (full-time collectors only, I should know)

Carster is always saying things like that but never with anything to back it up. He obviously doesn't want to shine.

Do not forget the mono 'Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!' issued in may a South American Country. Unfortunaly, MINT copies are hardly foud from those Copuntries, but I have to say that my VG copies sound very very strong

Is this something that needs a further research ? - and maybe Carster will be a little more specific ! - ?

Yes, that´s the run out engraved matrix.
The number on the label is RS-24186 SP
The Happy side label has RS-24181 SP
Sorry, I´m not able to post a picture...
