So which outfit is most likely to be selling tickets for Shanghai and is its website likely to be in Chinese only?

Maybe you'll already found it, there is only a phone number on Mercedes Arena official ticketing page for ticket reservation.....

I know that Tokyo show ticketing info is provided only in Japanese but still possible to apply on internet.

And I found a news
[www.mercedes-benzarena.com]

This is about Metallica show in last summer. It says that all tickets were sold out in 10 minutes and they will have an extra show.eye popping smiley

Seriously???

I was thinking that western rock fan base is very small in mainland china so it will be easy to get a ticket in Shanghai.
But if it was true, things not easy...

Thanks for the info. I hope I'm proved wrong but it doesn't look as if buying a ticket is going to be that straightforward. I found a couple of official ticket-selling sites and they have an English version, but if you go through the motions of trying to buy a ticket for a show at the Mercedes, you'll find that the ticket details are in Chinese only. If you translate the ticket details page using a translation tool, there seems to an option to pay online but possibly using only cards issued by certain Chinese banks? The process is not very clear and the fact that the translation is less than perfect doesn't help! I sure can't speak Chinese and wouldn't like to bet on the telephone operators being able to speak English...

These are the sites but they are essentially the same, as they have identical telephone numbers:

www.365ttk.cn

There is inquiry mail address ShanghaiTickets@gmail.com
But this is GMAIL. It is strange, especially in China.
I have ever traveled mainland China more than 10 times and I know that sometimes google service is blocked in mainland.
In my experience, Hotmail is still OK but reliability of gmail is far less in mainland.(It is OK in Hongkong and Macau.)

Anyway I have sent an inquiry how to purchase tickets from foreign country without domestic bank card.

The last show in Shanghai was a real scary affair. A site went up on line by the promoters as I remember earlier then sanctioned by the Stones business people, and many of us hit on it right away ( as I remember I did it over the phone, but could not swear to it.) Several of us then sat in limbo, with the people in Shanghai saying "don't worry," while being unable to confirm anything. It worked out for the best though We were up on the rail for the show. My sister got to meet Barnard (she thought he was funny,) Blondie ( she was not impressed) and Ronnie ( she thought he was pretty drunk.) Shanghai is a great place and the Stones seemed really relaxed in an environment where they could get out and around without being mobbed.

It might happen in China. lol
Tons of fake, non-authorized issues in the country.

I have ever seen fake viagra in China. On its package, Cristiano Ronalds's face was printed.

RS.com says 5pm CST.

There is a "CST" time zone in China on a map that I found. That area includes Shanghai.

Officially, China has only one timezone. GMT+8hours.

Indeed ... a lot of money, but there was already a 'Tongue Pit Package' at the '50 & Counting Tour' for 1500 US-$ in Spring 2013. See this Post as well as this Ticketmaster link.
