This one is beautiful.
The impressive thing about Nick Cave's ballads is that Love songs as a genre has been done so many times it's hard to write one that is completely original with regards to lyrics, but Nick seems to do it effortlessly

Nights in White Satin. Can't believe I forgot to mention it earlier. Great song to cry to when your heart is breaking.

Some song that I remember touched me way back were When will I see you again-Three Degrees and If you leave me now by Chicago.

A great thread and some beautiful songs, many of my favourites, but I don't think anyone has included Gregory Isaac's 'If I don't Have You' - this would be certainly in my top 3 love song's. Please enjoy.

Heard an interview just the other day with Larry Ramos who said that's the song people always have played at their weddings when in fact it's a song about unrequited love. He said this is the one they should be playing.

Dusty Springfield's song is a real good choice and I thought of that one too earlier. It's up there. Per my tastes, I might even slip in "More than a woman" or "How deep is your love" too by the Beegees.

As said earlier, Blueberry Hill has to be up there too.

Good selections everyone, this song came on the radio and I thought, yeah, that's good. A few versions of this song including ones by U2 and Gloria Esteban also Robert Knight and Love Affair.
