Are you sure about Ry cooder not being present during any of the Beggars sessions? Ive read he was. In any case he was recording with Mick in 1968.

Yes.

He played guitar on Marianne's Sister Morphine/Something Better single which was recorded at RCA Studios immediatley after Beggars Banquet was completed.

When did Ry record with Mick in 1968?

He recorded with Mick, Charlie and Bill in April 1969, with the Stones (LIB ) prior to that in 1969, Sister Morphine (May/June 1969) and with Mick in 1970.

See my post.

I saw that, but wondered what Carpet was referring to. Or is he trusting Wikipedia here?

Mick produced and most likely played on that single too.

The next time was later via the post when Mick supplied the demo version of Memo From Turner and they dubbed on to that, but kept his original vocal.

Then came the sessions at Olympic Studios circa spring 1969.

missed this track talk somehow ... Hide Your Love thread made me think of this track w/ its murky, beautiful sound. An amazing track to help make up an almost perfect album. Of course Sympathy is an all-time classic but with other songs on the album like Parachute Woman, Stray Cat Blues, Salt Of The Earth and Jig-Saw Puzzle, it doesn't get any better!
