I saw him in Montevideo. Love the man and his legacy. But very, very sad to see him make a fool of himself on a stage.

Occasionally making a fool of himself IS part of his legacy.

Seriously, no one should pay for this...

Watch the band try to save this one...

If the Stones played like this at Hyde Park would you buy it? Would you rock out to it? Claim they are still the greatest? Chuck gets a pass for some reason and it baffles me. I didn't understand Keith's attitude toward Chuck but now I really really get it. He (Keith) is right. Chuck is jerk who only cares about money.

Actually Keith and Chuck Berry have a lot in common.

They're old and they like money. And they love an audience.

I respect the great songs Chuck wrote and I still love to listen to them but I'm not foolish enough to go and see him. He has always been a hard-headed fellow.

Good ole Chuck!
He should keep on rocking and rolling as long as he desires.

Is there any place, where one can get an info about this tour? I mean the official page is absolutely useless and the only way to get any news about any event is to be lucky and spot it somewhere, like here. I would really love to find out in time in the case Mr. Berry would come somewhere reasonably close, but I am affraight I might miss the concert even if he played my hometown, simply because I would not know about it. What does it take and how much does it cost to keep one simple webb page with plain text info?

I think Wolfgang is updating this tour on the first page of this thread. The Oslo gig haven't been included there yet, though.

Happy24,

ChuckBerry.Com is definitely screwed up and has been for some time. There are some serious SQL (database) problems that CMG has yet to fix. There has been a Facebook page on line for nearly 4 years with 940 thousand members. Each week roughly 40 - 70 thousand people visit. Each and every contractually agreed upon tour and concert date has been posted there since it went on line.

You don't have to be a Facebook user to check the event schedule, photos or things posted by administrators or replies of the members. You do have to login to make comments or see the topics members created.

I'm sorry but I get the feeling acts like these (whether it's Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis or whatever) are just moneygrabbers. I mean you travel all the way to Moscow to perform like that! It doesn't matter if you're onehundred years old - that is not acceptable. If that's the best you can do you better stay at home. I guess people pay steep money just to take a look at a living icon. That is probably what it's about...

I have always appreciated both Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Once they were "young and frisky"guys" but if you're looking for musical greatness you have waited too long.

Seems odd too me that I'm even writing about the two of them in the same sentence.
At the peak of his fame, Jerry Lee's frequently used word started with N....He was the guy who would not shake Jimi Hendrix's hand when the Experience ran into him in a airport. Noel and Mitch almost died they were so shocked. Jimi, however, was completely cool. He was used to racism.

Thanks for this info, I didn't know about it. I will be checking it for updates. Still, this Wolfgang's thread is the most useful place when looking for the current tour info. I am still hoping to catch him somewhere. If I may suggest...Prague, Vienna, Dresden... smiling smiley

When this topic came up a few months back i defended Chuck's right to do as he pleases given the great music he gave us and the bands we love who drew inspiration from it (stones, beatles, kinks etc.). These 2 clips are desperately sad. His voice is fine but whoever said Chuck is his own shred is pretty much spot on. Either he should have had a days rest before playing this show or "his people" need to be looking after him better. I'm not sure i've seen a sadder clip of such a great performer and i'm a major Brian Wilson fan so i've witnessed some pretty sad moments in my time.
When your guitar skills fall below Brian Jones current ability it's time to learn a new instrument.

Every once in a while some bitter old fool pops up to complain about the worst two clips of Chuck out there, taking them out of context and blowing them out of proportion.

Those people are sad, not Chuck!!
