As the american shows prove, a crappy audience = crappy show, thank G-d for the Glasto Crowd, what a show!

No photo of the final bow with Keith? I must say, the European crowd is different from those in the USA....there are some strange comments here. They really do think American audiences are less enthusiastic?? That's because they've never seen the Stones on American turf!! Why only 20 songs, I wonder? I can't wait to get the boot of this show so Ican hear it all the way through.
american stones fans are incredible. i say that as one :-)
however, a bunch of the people at the US shows on this tour were just there because they got free tickets from their employer or business partner and they wanted to say they'd seen the rolling stones.
i don't doubt that the crowd was incredibly at glastonbury and i don't take the comments vs the american fans as a reflection on the quality of american stones fans, but rather the audience that the stones chose to have on their tour via the ticket pricing scheme.
hopefully the stones will see that it's better to have their audience full of fans of their music

I'm not singling you out sonomastone, I think you're argument here is very reasoned. But, I'd really like to see the proof of that statement, it's gotten bandied about here in the discussions of the ticket prices, but I'm not convinced it's true. I'd like to see hard evidence there. I went to four US shows and didn't run into any corporate types, just fans.

People have been saying here what a great show Bruce Sprinsteen puts on these days with lots of heart that beats the Stones Las Vegas style static setlist ....
Stones at Glastonbury 2013 beats any show Bruce has ever done plus I have no use for his music anyway. Beats anything Bono-U2 have ever done. No one can top this one. The only equivalent I see are the shows they did 1972-73 with Mick Taylor. Can't wait for the boot (or what have you) to come out

Jealous about Glastonbury here in LA. Sorry but I was at the O2 opener, San Jose, Anaheim, and Toronto shows. O2 was last for fan enthusiasm, certainly not bad not as wild as Toronto... Everyone around me at each show paid full pop. Just the facts from the 4 shows I saw.

Ron and Keith barely play on SFTD. Watch their hands. I listened to a bit of the show on streaming radio and heard a lot of Chuck Leavell's keyboards throughout. I'm not sure why people give these reports of how awesome the guitars sound on this show when they seem to be playing less than usual. These guys are playing okay, but the show sounds more slick and together due to Darryl's bass playing, Chuck's keyboards, and the horn section. It's as if someone made a decision to play it that way to make it more consistent for broadcast.

Maybe they'll realize it's more fun to play for music fans than guests of corporations

Maybe it's just the way the show was mixed for broadcast, but Glastonbury was a real showcase for Chuck. Go, Chuck.

Yeah thats what I was thinking after watching MR and 2000. Rambler is like the Chuck showcase here. Not saying that they weren't playing well, but that mix is like a Steel Wheels tour flashback.
