While the guests aren't really important, some do add something extra. Florence Welch, Tom Waits and Bruce were really great. They should just leave them out if they aren't gonna add anything. Throw Gwen Stefani and the like, in that bin. They could've cut at least 33% of them I reckon.

I thought Fogerty and Bonnie Raitt did a great job in San Jose.

I never said it was the greatest show ever, I said it blew Newark the out the water. Calm down and pay attention. Have a great f'n day. grinning smiley

as I tried tried to mention above, (in my reality), it was, ONE of their greatest performances, EVER.

Nice show but one of their greatest performaces ever?......blew Newark out of the water? I am paying attention and I have to disagree.

you also have to make a point of it too, that you disagree, big deal, I guess you're the greatest at knowing what is the greatest or not. Please review show 20 from 1981.

Yeah good on MT. Everybody's rooting for him.

Never before seen MT in such a snazzy jacket lol

What an amazing time it must be for him.

It reminds me of one well known jacket ;-)

It wasn't Taylor's best MR and the guitars seemed too low in the mix on the television, (except when they were soloing), but the whole band displayed total committment and the atmosphere was brilliant. I predict spectacular reviews tomorrow and it will cement the Stones place in history as the greatest rock-n-roll band the world will ever see. It was a smart move on their part for the legacy; they knew what they had to do and they did it. As a friend texted to me "I am so happy they're not letting us down". I have never been more proud to love this band.

Excellent job, wow, and Mick was even smiling during the last bows!

So great to see all the young people in that huge audience appreciating the band.

It was great to see part of the show soon after it happened, with the video online.
Looks like they are more than ready for Hyde Park, as if there was any doubt!!

I like the point where Keith came over and rested an arm on Mick's shoulder--what song was that again? Was it during Miss You? Help me out.... Should be a featured IORR photo.

Blows Newark out the damn world! Where's the bootleg!!!

Are you serious? Calm down. A nice show for sure but take a deep breath. All these greatest show ever! Best Rambler ever! posts are simply nonsense! Anyone who saw/heard the Stones live in the sixties through the 70's know this to be true. Stones are doing a great job and definitely putting everything they have into these shows ( I loved both shows I attended) but to think anything happening on this tour is the greatest ever is just wishful thinking or as is human nature an attempt to feel what you are experiencing is the best ever. A nice thought but it has no basis in reality!

It does in my reality.

My point exactly!
k
Why bother with comparisons? They've still got it and that's all that matters. A Rolling Stones concert is still a great party.

In some way they are an acquired taste, but they we know party and have party.

Sorry wasn't in Dallas that year and do not have time to review the boot. However I was at shows 12, 13 and 14 in Seattle and San Francisco......rained early in the day but cleared up nicely for showtime. George Thorogood and J Geils did a nice job opening the show. The pitch was extremely muddy but Bill Graham presents put down hundreds of 4x8 plywood sheets to stand on. Stones came out late afternoon and the sold out Candlestick Park crowd went wild. All three shows followed roughly the same setlist but a great rendition of Star Star was perhaps the highlight in SF. Excellent shows, great time for all. If you need any more info just ask! :-))

Great video clip of CYHMK, I don't know what that reporter was saying but the screen showing Mick Taylor's Les Paul and hearing the start of his solo was great timing to start the newscast.

Also, can I take this opportunity to apologise to my neighbours. It seems my AV amp is louder than I thought, and SFD does have to be played loud.....it's the law.

Which is why I'm dreading Hyde Park. As a first timer myself, I reckon all those who've seen them countless times (like f***ing everyone on this site) will only affect the atmosphere negatively.

I think tonight will end up being the best crowd the Stones will see on this tour.
