Standing in the kitchen
Looking way out cross the fields
You see a face in the window
It not real, it not real
Ain't no use in crying

Isnt this Keith mourning the loss of Anita? Aint no use in (Keith) crying, he had to leave her/she had to leave him.

The lyrics are great.

Yeah, I really can't see what's wrong with the lyrics. The metaphors, are they too cheap? Nah, love it! thumbs up

It's a bit one-dimensional, though, but I like it.

"No use in crying" is an absolute gem. Remember 30 odd ppl standing around the jukebox for my 15th birthday party playing this over and over. Awesome track from a masterpiece album.

It's another Jagger put down song and there are a ton of them. It is a theme he returns to over and over going back to the earliest days. Looking at it in the broad context I now find it alarmingly pervasive. Once I tune into it it is simply not fun to listen to anymore. I guess I am getting old. I respond to harmony and the negativity feels harsh. A simple contrast are Keith's lyrics, generally speaking.

I love the way this song leads into Waiting on a Friend.

yes, i do too! i think that is what justifies "no use in crying" being on the album actually. it's a perfect segue.

One of the best - harks back to earlier tunes like Time is On my Side and Heart of Stone, but a bit smokier and bluesy.

One obscure number and IMO a good one.
This may be the only Stones song where Ron Wood's vocal dominates in the chorus.

Edit - Oh yes and it is a superb performance by Jagger.

One of my all-time favorite Stones tracks right here. A truly original sound for a ballad. Beautiful, delicate music, lovely imagery in the lyrics.

Love the harmonies Nanette Workman also sang backing vocals on County Honk and TCAGWYW. Hmmm

Ain't No Use In Crying - the song

I think "Ain't No Use In Crying" is soooo underrated.

I hate the term "criminally underrated".

Yes, this is intended to be a politics free zone. Stones-related topics are up for discussion.

On a mix tape this is a great song to segue into or after Into The Mystic by Van Morrison.
