Best: 1969
Worst: This One

I would have paid a lot to be able to witness the 1967 tour, which perhaps sounds like it was the best of the lot. We want an archive release from that tour!

I like them all, but IMO in 81/82 the songs were played too fast. They lacked the famous Stones roll.

Every tour after that has blown me away. I always think that this time they will not be as good as last time, but they always prove me wrong.

I saw the forst show in London in November and the three shows in New York in December, and they were all great. I'm impressed!

I'm looking forward to the London shows in July, and hopefully more shows in Europe this summer.

We are just so incredible lucky to still have The Stones playing for us.

Rock in boys! thumbs up

That's a good one. A kind of missing link in seeing the progress they made at the time. From what we know and have, they surely didn't sound like that in any other tour. With a proper release of that tour would enrich our knowledge a great deal.

Best: 94/95 and 97/98
Worst: 81/82 hade some really bad performances... but the prize goes to 2005-2007. Although beginning quite well it totally fell apart after Keiths incident. In Gothenburg and Helsinki he was 2 seconds behind on each song.

<In Gothenburg and Helsinki he was 2 seconds behind on each song.>

In Oslo he was back on track, but the shows were uneven because of the accident.

if 69 wasn't the best, then 72 was. if 72 wasn't, then 69 was.

the worst tour is in progress and continues this week in LA. Enjoy!

I attended every one from 1990 up to (& including) now, and my vote goes to Voodoo Lounge 94/95.

Best - 1972 / Best I attended - 89 - just blew me away, I expected 81 part two. It was just so much better - better than I could have ever dreamed.

Worst - 81 - didn't like the guitar tone, garbled vocals, increased tempo - although I did like the set list.

Mr More Hot Rocks phoned me and said that his keyboard isn't working, so he can only read the board today, but not post.
He wanted me to say that "the best tours were 1978 and 1981; as the band was REALLY letting it all out, and rocked like never before". The worst tours, he says, "are the oh-so-dull Vegas tours with all the safe arrangements and sub-standard guitar-playing. After Bill Wyman left, they never got it to swing"

That "Vegas tours" word is his, not mine, btw

Well the best certainly wouldn;t be 1967, I would pick 72/73 (I didn;t see them on either of those years) based on bootlegs and film clips. The worst, undoubtedly 2007. It's good that already the current tour is better than that!

I was not there, but I imagine the 70 European tour and the 71 UK tour must have been wonderful. In any event, you can never beat anything with Brian Jones.

I've seen the boys every tour since 1978.

1999 "No Security Tour" was definitely the best I've seen!

A tie between 1981 & 1997 for the worst.

But I do not even consider worst when I think of "The Rolling Stones".

Based on boots, I would have to go with 1972 for the best, though I love '69 (and '70) as well.

Worst probably 2007.

Best I've seen are 72, then 75

Worst was maybe 89?

Worst is the wrong word to use.

I think this one is very good, so far.

Needs:

1. More MT
2. Keith thinking outside the box on his solo set
3. Guests who are more prepared and more appropriate for the song
4. Less expensive tix
