ER?

What is your source?

Offering him Emotional Barbecue is like offering him fingerprint file...

It is hard to believe such bad faith...

We all know Bill's value lies in other fields which made stones sound unique...(and now is lost....)

They should do a set where both MT and BW are onstage,
for 4-5 songs covering the 69-74 era.

If only on Rescue, BW should be given 2 minutes in the middle
where he could play with some basslines. A thing he would hate, btw.

Bill was never THAT eclectic grinning smiley

He was playing on IORR, which he didn't play on on the album, so who knows what he'll do if he comes back...

I have been listening to Emotional Rescue (the song) in a seemingly endless loop the last few days... love it. What a great re-discovery!

It's a groovy little thing. It's very cool that they finally picked it up again thumbs up

Without wanting to sound too smug, I always had time for ER. When it was released as a single I thought it was a refreshing change and whilst a little cheesey it is a fine pop single. ER wasn't such a bad album on reflection and in comparison to what came later.

Couldn't agree more, I quite like Dance pt.1 as well, it has a good groove to it.

Man, I hope they're still playing this ER when they hit Chicago.

Re: emotional rescue, I was playing along it with the bass the other day - Ronnie truly nailed a great bass line there - The opening riff just makes the song and such distinctive bass riffs are rare even among the established great bass players.

Always loved both the song and the whole LP.

Darryl is doing awesome. I don't think that bass can be improved upon.

This song has been blamed for a massive outbreak of lyricosis in 1980...it really should be handled carefully...

It was already 12 years old when I was born, I've been doing a lot of catching up these past years

I dig the song - light-hearted fun - and, yes, my friend, flac, that's the bassist from the Jeff Beck Group on ER (Ronnie Wood).

You learn something every day. I love being a Stones nerd and yet being out-nerded by my fellow Stones nerds. Let the nerdery continue!

And yes, Darryl is FANTASTIC. The only negative thing I have ever had to say about him was his overplaying on The Last Time. BUT, I think that also is due to the arrangement itself. The bouncy pop 2012/13 version is completely inferior to the train-barreling-down-the-track version from 97/98.
