Great set list, but I would lose Here Today and Something. Yeah, we get it now, Paul. You miss your mates. You've been playing those for years. Now if he did I Need You, that would be good.

He's playing 37-38 songs for almost 3 hours. As far as I'm concerned, he's got licence to play anything he wants.

Here Today is a great song about John's death. That has become a staple of his shows.

is it fair to say the beatles are beating the stones this week?

Mccartney listening to his fans! Stones in auto pilot

The Stones have been listening. And delivering. More surprises are on the way.
Don't tease. what surprises are coming? Let it Loose or Ventilator Blues finally????????

They certainly could mix up the warhorses by 2 songs each show. Rotate and keep us guessing a little. Street Fighting Man and Rip This Joint should be considered.

Yes, and what about When The Whip Comes Down?
Anyone else want to hear some Dirty Work stuff? I would love to hear One Hit or see Keith do Too Rude.

Keith did "Too Rude" on the first Winos tour.

"No Anchovies, Please"

It's easier for him to do long sets. Jagger is constantly moving around the stage like a teenager. Macca sits at the piano like a senior citizen in a retirement home.

Hardcore fans understand this is their last chance to see the Stones. Hardcore fans certainly don't expect a theater or club tour or theater or club shows. Hardcore fans can read the writing on the wall. They also understand that the Stones' legacy will not really be tarnished by this tour, despite reviews like they have never reeived.

As a "hardcore" fan, I disagree with all of the above.

I don't believe this is the last chance to see the Stones.
They might play and/or tour again in the future, and that may include several club or theater shows...or even an entire tour of theater and club shows.
Even if they don't tour as we have come to know it, they still might play a one-off or a handful of theater or club shows somewhere down the line.
The Stones legacy will be tarnished by this tour if it hasn't been already...the backlash against the hight ticket price's, etc. will not go away that easily.
They are being mocked and ridiculed by thousands (millions?) of fans...hardcore and casual ...and this will be passed down from generation to generation.
They will have to swallow their expensive pride to win back all the fans that they have turned away.
By offering future shows at realistic prices, they may be able to erase some of the negativity, but it might be too little and too late.
This tour has just begun, and it's a fairly long road ahead...the critics are just beginning to sharpen their pencils.

I have seen the writing on the wall.

The ticket issue will have no impact on their legacy. How they perform will. So far they have performed magnificently.

I agree completely that the ticket issue, whataver happens, will not be a factor in their legacy. The current mocking will be a blip that will disappear.

I don't have an opinion on how they are playing now, I have read reports all over the place and I don't have the patience to watch the crappy YouTube stuff. I was lucky enough to get 85's for the final show in Philly, which I'm sure will be the final US show ever. I don't get people that can't see that they are winding down, that these are the last few shows. The idea of future tours, or this tour returning to the US, seems so unlikely as to be fantasy, as is the idea that they are suddenly going to play theaters or clubs, suddenly become a working band after decades of not doing so.

EDIT: guess Philly may not be the last show, DC just announced?

Yes, I'm denying that...he plays mostly bass and some guitar. He "sits at the piano" for maybe 7 or 8 songs out of 35+.

I think it's more than that for most concerts but even if you're right that's still takes less energy than Jagger has to exert during an average Stones concert.

It's not more than that...I've seen Paul multiple times over the years - you can check the setlists and ID the songs.

I agree Jagger exerts more energy, but Paul hardly "sits at the piano like a senior citizen in a retirement home" for "most of the show" during his 3-hour concerts.

i have seen maccy in concert and he's one of the most boring acts on the f/cking planet.

if the backstreet boys got old and went on tour they would have pauls career.its just sad ,"ok now we're gonna do another little number you may remember" and all the acid heads from the 60s and their chromosome damaged offspring go wild.

heyyyy jude dont make it baaaad...oh,it just sucks. mainstream at its worst.

seriously, you guys gotta go.there has to be somewhere you can hang out and jackoff to the moptops.maybe you can all sit there together and play that song with the sound effects where they say "# 9 "over and over like mental patients.

and take the "yoko appreciation thread " with you on your way out.

Macca plays piano on 9 out of the 36 song played on this current tour, That is 25% of the songs, Rest is standing up playing, 75% of a three hour show is 2 hours 15 minutes, 2,25 hours carrying a guitar/bass. How long does the current Stones show last, sans the Keith numbers?
Now, I am a fan of both Macca and the Stones, Both are old and past their prime, and I tell you, over at the Macca Forum, they are pretty tired of him playing too many Beatles songs in his set, just like we are complaining about the same old songs dominating the Stones shows. Though I must say, Macca does more different stuff and takes more chances, also vocally, unlike Jagger; win or lose, his vocals is more exciting, but then again, he has those horrible horns from Wix's box...
