Funny, isn't it, how they never, ever needed 3 guitarists the previous 50 years?

ok... 4 guitars if Mick wants to strum.
But if MJ is busy out front being Mick Jagger, then the 3 guitars would be fine.

This is so good. Keith can sit and play acoustic on somithing like Dead Flowers, Ronnie can play steel, Taylor can play 12 string...

I don't think I've ever seen so many guitarists onstage together at one time as here...

This one comes close, and is more fun because Pete Townshend is stone drunk....

does it count as two guitars when you play 12 strings? if so...i think we could up the count again!

MunichhiltonYou guys are tough. Some of Taylor's sweetest recorded moments are on acoustic guitar and nashville tuning which is twelve minus the regular six, but you know that! Even you jokers who pretend to hate everything about the current band have to be tweaked. I'm certain that the guitar section will continue to be the concise, respectful and professional presentation they've always been famous for.Quote

KEITH ... his playing recently sounds great (His rhythm playing, that is)... focused, practiced, sober.
RONNIE... He also played great when I saw them in Newark in December. Woody's a good copyist and a good guitarist... so he can also play all the necessary old riffs, if maybe Keith can't or is posing or "soloing". Ditto practice and sobriety for Ronnie...
MICK TAYLOR ... LET HIM FLY!
As Keith said recently (was it a recent Jimmy Fallon interview?)... there are often several guitars overdubbed on the original songs which could make for some great live arrangements. Now I just need to get a ticket!

There were THREE great bits of guitar news on the December shows:
1. Keith focusing on playing rather than posing.
2. The inclusion of Mick Taylor (but we need more than the one tune).
3. The improved playing of Ronnie.
This bodes very well for the guitar section on the upcoming tour.

Keith will come up with anything to justify their actions. Funny, isn't it, how they never, ever needed 3 guitarists the previous 50 years? In fact I don't think they were happy with the '81 Kansas City concert when they did have Taylor. It's all to cover that Keith's fingering is suspect at this time. He can still manage some chunky chords, but his soloing has gone south. This is his way of putting a positive spin on it.
