At least 22 injured and 2 deceased .

I'm sure the numbers will only rise .

I'm in Boston. This is so messed up. Cell service is totally down, at least for me, and the explosions were just right in the middle of the city which was densely populated at the time. This is gonna be ridiculous.

It's Patriot's Day in Massachusetts which commemorates the first battles of the American Revolution. I wouldn't rule out a misguided citizen either.

Right now I will keep the victims in my thoughts, worry about the culprits later.

Just (4:10 pm EDT) spoke to my father who is outside Boston... Local media in Boston are currently not reporting bombs but explosions. As easy as it is to jump to our own conclusions, before placing blame (MILKYWAY) we may want to make sure that we have all the facts.

At this early stage, maybe we should focus on the victims of the explosions rather than who or what may have caused the explosions.

AP says they found two more bombs btw... Currently being disassembled.



GumbootCloggeroo, you are right, I should not jump to judgement on these things. At this point we don't have anyone claiming responsibility yet. Islamic terrorists don't have a track record of using bombs on crowds or anything... (here's the link you requested)

I'm sure this is probably an attack by those Westboro Baptist nutbags.. God hates running right? All must walk now? (Careful Nicos, you might insinuate that the attack was by a certain people group. Gumboot will require evidence.)

Not a US holiday. Patriots' Day (April 19th officially) is an official holiday in very few US states. Massacusetts and Maine may be the only state's left that honor it.

Terrorism is all about fear. When the IRA were setting off bombs a limited number of people were directly affected but many, many more were indirectly affected. People didn't want to come into town centres or get on public transport.

Terrorist (whether religious or otherwise) they don't care whether their bombs blow up innocent kids or about the nationality or faith of their victims. It's that indiscriminate nature that's truly scary.

Most of the 9/11 bombers were from Saudi. Perhaps America has invaded the wrong countries?

Cell phone service has been totally cut off due to fears of using phones as detonators .

I guess we should take what the NY Post is saying as fact. Just like how they're reporting that 12 people have died. I don't see any other media outlets reporting that.
